1955 true first issue 'S' hardbox in stunning, investment-grade 'Near Mint+' condition with the fantastic early artwork that has made these models so famous. This kit is the true first issue with the rare one-piece clear stand arm to the Revelving base. In practice, this arm was too brittle and weak and broke very easily. Revell was quick to replace it it and change the instructions accordingly. (The new arm had two clear plastic pieces and continued in production until about 1960). This kit also has the correct 1st issue instructions showing the one piece arm. Molded in the correct high gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all pieces present and includes decals and instructions. Instructions are in 'near mint' condition and the decals are perfectly flat, 100% intact and are 'excellent' with the typical age yellowing of the carrier film as the only flaw.

Hard-to-find 1962 hardbox release with Bill Campbell artwork. This kit is directly from the original owner and was purchased new by him on March 31, 1962. The box has great color and gloss, four solid corners, no tape or tags and no fading or tears. There is light general wear as shown. This kit is completely metal plated. The plating is very bright but only in 'above average condition'. That means that the plating is bright, not badly scratched or missing; but there is light general wear and (mainly) several dull spots where the clear varnish (that the factory put on to protect the plating) was a little too thick. Well detailed for that time with drop tanks, rocket launchers and optional position canopy. Includes decals for all three versions. Never started. Very rare and much more so in an 'Excellent+' condition box. This kit is from 1949, and even predates the Gowland & Gowland 'Highway Pioneers' that started the plastic model craze in the United States. This model is molded in the correct glossy medium gray with a unique early stand. The model was issued with instructions but did not come with decals. The instructions tell you that '...the plane is molded in the proper base color, and if you intend to paint your favorite air-line markings be sure to use good enamel (not lacquer). The kit has never been started. The contents are as they left the factory. They have been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions present. Hawk was a producer of wooden kits (often with plastic & metal details) before and after WWII and was one of the handful of manufacturers to produce such kits (known as 'solids') in a consistent 1/48 scale. Hawk made aircraft, ship and train models in this fashion. The very first injection molded aircraft kits in the United States were made by Varney or Hawk in 1946, but they did not catch on quickly. Hawk was always an innovative and quality-driven company, and they took a gamble on injection molded kit well before they were popular. As early as 1946 they issued the 1/48 Curtiss R3C-1 with wheels. Like Varney's Fleet Sub and PT-17, they were shunned by hobby dealers. Hawk persisted with the 'Evolution of the Jet' gift set in 1948 and issued several kits - the Supermarine S6B, Gee-Bee, Howard Ike, Laird (all in acetate) and the F-84G and this Constellation (both in polystyrene). All were in the two-tone one-piece box like this Constellation model.

I have packed the parts so they will be protected in shipping. Features removable jet engine and engine stand, mechanic, cockpit, working canopy and more. Includes a large decal sheet for all three versions. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
