Very nicely molded and detailed kit with 116 parts. Features all fine recessed panel lines, detailed cockpit, rotating turrets, separately molded elevators and four-view painting guides & markings for three air forces: Luftwaffe, Dutch and Swedish. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Do-24 was being built in Holland under license. When the Germans invaded, they found 3 done and 25 in various states of completion. The Air Ministry was looking for aircraft suitable to salvage sunk aircraft, and the Do-24 fit the bill. The American Wright engines were removed and BMWs installed. The Do-24 went on to see successful service in WWII as recon, supply and ambulance aircraft. A squadron was supplied to Spain, and one Do-24 remained operational until 1970.

Rare Mandrill reissue of Strombeckers famous Sea Dart model from the 1950s. This was a bagged-only release and never had a box. Molded in dark blue plastic. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes the correct Mandrill-issued instructions. Please NOTE that Mandrill did not furnish decals with this kit. Strombecker was very well known for producing the finest pre-carved hardwood aircraft and missile kits, but they had a very short journey into the plastic model field. After making the Sea Dart kit in 1956, they added four more for a total of 5 injection molded aircraft kits. All were discontinued in the mid 1960s. The Sea Dart was a supersonic design that could take off and land from water using retractable hydro-skis. Five prototypes were built and over 300 test flights made. The advent of the super carrier spelled the end of the Sea Dart, although 4 still exist on display today. Mandrill was founded by Bob Bennett in 1988 and he purchased the Strombecker molds from Polk's Hobby and Modelcraft. This kit was released in 1989. Mandrill also re-issued the plastic 1/130 scale Strombecker Martin China Clipper in a plain white box with no decals or instructions. These are the only two known releases from Mandrill.

Rare, early kit from the first Japanese plastic model kit company. Loaded with working features such realistically folding wings, retracting landing gear, rotating ball turret & elevating machine gun, opening bomb bay doors, dropping torpedo, pilot & gunner figures, LSO figure, rotating wheels & propeller, detailed engine front, optional position rear side entry door, working arresting gear, two wheel chocks and more. If you are thinking that this model is a copy of the Monogram molds, you are correct. However, Marusan added a tree of black plastic details including small internal fuel tanks for the wing, fusealage internal forward fuel tank (or engine oil tank), Oxygen bottles for the cockpit, 50 caliber ammo in ready-to-load strips and four detailed machine guns (I do not know where they go). Molded in clear, dark navy blue and black plastic. Never started. 95% of all parts are still in the factory sealed bag; the black extra details were not factory sealed. Includes instructions, decals and unopened tube of very colorul Marusan cement.

1995 first issue of this hard-to-find kit of the solid or 'gun nose' Invader in large 1/48 scale. Features full interior with all stations represented, optional position landing gear and bomb bay doors with detailed bay and weapons and more. Inventoried with all plastic parts present and instructions but NOTE: Missing decals. And NOTE: this kit has 'excellent' quality sub-assembly as noted: two bulkheads & instrument panel to cockpit floor; two main gear doors glued in the 'closed' position to two nacelle halves; one nose gear door glued in the 'closed' position to one fuselage half. NOTE: you can only build this kit in the 'gear up' configuration because of the modifications done to the gear doors so they could be glued 'closed.'
