This is the original 1967 RB-66 issue, not the 1990s reissue. It is a fine model from the original 'Four Star' molds and features rear gun turret, cockpit with three crew, opening bomb bay and bomb. Molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. When the Air Force phased out the B-66, they converted many into ECM aircraft, hence the RB-66A. Monogram seized this opportunity as a new lease on life for the B-66 molds and the result was this issue as RB-66 aircraft were being used in Vietnam in the late 1960s.

From the 1960s and quality Frog molds. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Box art is by the famous Jo Kotula who did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News' and later the Aurora box art of the late 1950s. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.

Despite much anticipatory rejoicing by Army aviators, this interesting project was abandoned when most fixed wing types were transferred to the USAF.

This is a very rare kit for the advanced collector. This model has a fascinating history. In 1946 Varney cut molds for the PT-17 and injected them in tenite plastic. This was the first all-plastic model kit made in the USA. Gorden Varney sold them to hobby shops through his strong pre-war model train wholesale network. Unlike almost all early plastic kit producers, Varney understood the value and draw of box art and issued the PT-17 with full-size box art in color. However, dealers didn't really know how to market the PT-17 (and it's partner in '46, the US Fleet Sub) so they did not sell well. Mr. Varney kept trying for a few years but eventually became disillusioned with plastic kits. Around 1948 or 49, he sold all his molds to O-Lin so Varney could concentrate on HO scale trains (which He did very successfully). O-Lin was founded by Paul Lindberg and a Mr. Olsen - hence the company name. Although a producer of flying models in the 1930s, O-lin was busy producing some of the earliest American injection molded kits in the late 1940s. The O-Lin PT-17 is numbered kit 508. Since there are earlier kit numbers from O-Lin, one could safely assume that O-Lin had already made a few original models before purchasing the Varney molds. Two issues of the O-lin PT-17 are known so far: the one-piece box release (this kit) and the hardbox issue. Both have the same box artwork. The kit is even rarer as it appears to be the same parts and part count as the original Varney issue (other than the display stand). That is important because Lindberg quickly re-worked the molds, forever altering the pieces. The condition of the model is as follows: the one-piece box has great color, almost as new. There are no repairs and all four box flaps and both ends are still solidly attached. There is a bit of wear as shown but the main flaw is that the left flap is creased & concave; but it's still 100% intact. Inside, the main parts are molded in gloss white plastic with black engine, tires, propeller and tail wheel. All of the small parts are still in the original 'krinkle' bag. The kit has been inventoried with all parts present and instructions, which are on the back of the box. NOTE: missing decals. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.

$930
Very rare and even rarer in complete condition. This is the 1959 first and only issue of this classic Monogram models and certainly one of the 'Holy Grail' for the manufacturer. The model features 18 aircraft (102 parts total), all to a constant 1/240 scale. All aircraft have an in-flight configuration accurate down to the upward-swept wing angle on the B-52. The display is made complete with all aircraft riding on 'Flight Wires' that rise from the special blue stand. The large decal sheet is in amazing 'Near Mint+' condition. It is flat and 100% intact with no visible micro-cracking and no yellowing. The instructions and Air Power book are both in 'Excellent+++' condition with light yellowing as the only significant flaw. The kit has never been started; there is no assembly. The flight wires are still in the factory sealed clear bag. The plastic parts have been inventoried 100% complete. The box is rated 'Good'. It has 'excellent' color and gloss, four solid original corners, no repairs, no price tag or tag marks and no tears. Wear includes many lithograph missing 'chips' as shown; these are due to bug damage. These chips are on the box sides also but there are slightly fewer than on the top. There is one very light crease about 1 inch long at the lower left corner. This kit must be shipped with postal insurance and double-boxed.
Resin Model Kit, Box Condition: Exc
$89
Very rare. Quality high-definition resin model of this hard-to-find subject features excellent overall detail, a superb cockpit with all crew stations and more. Never started. The parts are still in the factory sealed internal bag. Includes two decal sheets (one white and one black) and a large three-view drawing that also shows the camo pattern, painting guide and markings guide. Please note that these plans are the instructions (the full-size three view drawings). If you do not feel confident building the model from three view plans only, then please refrain from buying this model! P.1067 was the designation for the design that would fly the Olympic Torch non-stop from Berlin to Tokyo for the 1940 Olympic games. The specialized, long range monoplane eventually took the name Bf-261 when V1 and V2 were built. Power was provided by two DB 606A-1/B-1 coupled engines, each of which was a pair of DB601 liquid-cooled mounts driving a very large four bladed propeller. There was a crew of 5 and bunks were provided. The work slowed as hostilities picked up. Without it's intended mission, the 261 was considered for ultra-long range reconnaissance over the Atlantic Ocean, but the difficulty of fixing proper defensive guns caused engineers to give up the project. The three aircraft were used for performance calibration flights, some of very long range (almost 2,800 miles). V3 did see action in very long range military reconnaissance. No further aircraft were built.
