The Stranraer was one of several successful flying boats designed by RJ Mitchell for the RAF. Experience gained with the Southampton and Scapa flying boats was put to good use in design of the Stranraer which featured an all metal structure. Although replaced operationally with the Sunderland, examples of this aircraft were used till 1942 in WWII and many flew long after the war was over. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Original first issue 'Pre-S' kit from 1954 and before the 'S' Cement logo was used. The hardbox sports the amazing 'Flying Dragon' artwork by Richard Kishady. The model features rotating turrets and propellers, pilot, copilot and bomber figures, full landing gear and 'The Flying Dragon' decals. Correctly molded in gloss olive drab and clear and includes the famous Revell Swivel 'Globe' base. Never started and inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Both the decals and instructions are in 'excellent' condition. The box has perfect color & gloss & four solid corners; in the photo it looks slightly better than the 'good++' rating, but it is graded at such because it has very light age spots; you can see them in the white of the logo and the center-top green & yellow sky sections.

Very rare and out of production now that HPH has closed down the manufacture of all models. HPM models were the definitive 'State-Of-The Art' in model making and true 'Museum Quality' as required by the most demanding modelers and collectors of this time. These super-accurate and amazingly detailed models are made from fiberglass, high-definition gray and clear resin (vacuum-cast to eliminate air bubbles and ensure that every detail is completely filled), color & non-colored photoetched parts and much more. Include decals and a large mask set. Each kit was made by hand and production was very limited. Inside, this kit is as it left the factory. Never unpacked; never started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the factory sealed bags & box. The few large parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes decals. The assembly instructions are on the original factory DVD. Please NOTE that this kit must be shipped double-boxed and insured. The box has damage as shown, but that area is not over the big fiberglass parts- just smaller parts in sturdy boxes. So there is no damaged to the kit inside.
