This large 1/16 scale kit is from the late 1970s/early 80s and is highly detailed. It includes provisions for rubber or U Control flight or could be converted to R/C. Features movable ailerons, elevator and rudder. The main structure is wood (stick and tissue) while many plastic details are included such as pilot, cowl, scale engine and propeller, wheel fairings, wheels and more. Includes well cardstock detailed cockpit, die cut balsa, full size plans and a large sheet of decals. The kit has never been started. Smaller parts are still in the factory sealed bag; all other parts have been inventoried complete with plans and instructions.

From the 1960s. Large scale, well detailed model can be flown rubber free flight, gas free flight or converted to electric RC using today's small and light servos and receivers. Well detailed with scale plastic wheels, plastic propeller, vacuform nose/cowl and engine, full color decals, covering tissue, die cut balsa parts, rubber motor, plywood firewall and excellent full size plans. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Guillow's founder, Paul K. Guillow, was a WWI naval aviator. In 1926 he began producing wooden model airplane kits. His 'Shelf Models' were some of the earlier non-flying models in production. Guillow's grew during the model boom of the 1930s, and when the Depression hit the hardest, Guillow's responded with lower prices and became one of the low price leaders, frequently advertising in Model Airplane News and other leading publications. During the war, like most manufacturers, Guillow's was forced to alternative materials such as cardboard and pine. Guillow's survived the post WWII slump by creating many inexpensive profile flying rubber powered aircraft and gliders in the 1950s (along with North Pacific) which became famous - some are still available today. The stick and tissue lines have been updated with laser cut parts and are still in production as of 2009.

Still factory sealed with the box in investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. 1973 release that is very nicely molded & detailed and from the original 1960s molds. This issue has the higher 1.75" box. Monogram first released the F4B-4, Goshawk and P-6E Hawk in the 1960s 'Blue Boxes' and also in a 'gift set' blue box containing all three kits. Being very good sellers, Monogram discontinued them through the 'White Box' era. But even with Monogram's demise, the story did not stop there. Accurate Miniatures gained access to the molds and reissued two of the three kits in a special boxing. Mark's Models/Starfighter Decals even makes special markings for these models even today.

Very finely molded and detailed for that time and features detailed cockpit & gear wells, choice of two canopies, pilot figure, dual drop tanks and much more. The decals are for Col. Howard, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. He was an AVG pilot and became the first US pilot to become an ace in both the Pacific and European theaters. His aircraft 'Ding Hao' means 'OK!' in Chinese.

This was a well detailed model for that time featuring elevating guns and rotating turrets, movable control surfaces, retractable landing gear, crew members, rotating propellers and wheels, optional position crew entry door & ladder and more. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The decals are in 'excellent++' condition which is rare for these 1970s MPC kits. They are flat, 100% intact, clear and only have the smallest bit of micro-cracking.
