This is the rare 100% correct first issue from 1955. This model has a part number of 'P6-98', early '4 Star Plastikit' slogan at the bottom of the Monogram rectanglar logo, black rubber main gear tires and no support peg to keep it from being a 'tail sitter' when assembled. Molded in correct gloss silver and clear plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The box would grade much higher than 'good++' but it has a small tape pull at the very top center as shown in the photo. If you were wondering, The second issue (also numbered P6-98) has the same part number, logo but has regular injection molded (silver) tires and a peg to keep the nose gear grounded. The second issue instructions show these changes but are still numbered P6, as are the decals.

Rare second issue hardbox dated 1957; please note the 'PA' part number and "The Name For Quality Hobby Kits" in the red on the logo. This superb kit features perfect fit and finish, very fine raised detail, retractable landing gear, rotating wheels & propellers, three man crew, optional position rear cabin door, two survivors in a life raft and more. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Albatross was the primary sea rescue aircraft of the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service, a branch of MAC - Military Airlift Command. Operational service began in 1947 and Hu-16s saw wartime action in Vietnam.

Frist issue of the 'Pacific Raiders' in a 1965 hardbox; not a modern reissue. Inside this model features the famous 1954 Pre-S Buffalo Bill kit but with Pacific Theater colors and markings. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the box displays better than the 'good+' rating but it is graded as such because there is light age foxing. The foxing shows up 'in person' but it so light that it is very difficult to see in the photo.

Rare true first issue with the short 1.25 inch hieight pre-'S' hardbox and the correct short-lived 2 piece stand as opposed to the later standard 4 piece stand. The very first Pre-S 'Swivel' Globe-based stands simply had a base and an arm and the arm has three prongs. This stand was discontinued shortly after introduction because it broke very easily. Inside the box, the kit is in the same condition that it came from the factory. The small parts still factory sealed in cello bag and the parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes the correct decals and instructions.
