The sails are in amazing 'mint' condition. Molded in three colors - white, light wood tan and dark brown wood. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts, decals, flags, rigging material and instructions present. Instructions and decals are both in 'excellent+' condition. Please NOTE: these issues. The box top has a 1.75" long tape tear at the lower right as shown in the photo; part #82 davit is broken but the parts are present and fit back perfectly; the propeller has one blade broken off and that blade is missing. The 295' bark rigged sailing ship was built in 1936 in Bremerhaven, Germany, for the German Navy. It was originally named Horst Vessel. The vessel was acquired in 1946 as a World War II war reparation. The ship was named the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle, and has been used ever since as a training ship for future U.S. Coast Guard Officers. Eagle is based in New London, Connecticut.
