1964 issue in exceptional condition. This model is from the same molds as 1955-1959 'S' issue. Very finely molded for the time and features superb recessed surface detail, cowlings that snap off to show four detailed engines, open or closed passenger boarding doors, passenger loading ramp, detailed landing gear with rotating wheels and more. Includes very colorful and extensive United Air Lines decals. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. If you look closely, this kit re-uses the original "S" 'Airport Boarding Gate' artwork but with the ground painted out with sky added, so now it is airborne. Commissioning artwork was very expensive back in the Golden Age of Illustration. Such a painting could run up to $5,000, so it was beneficial to recycle artwork whenever possible. Revell did so whenever possible but Lindberg was probably one of the most prolific.
