Revell 1/56 Chris Craft Flying Bridge Cruiser - Pre 'S' Issue, H302-98 plastic model kit

1/56 H302-98 Revell Chris Craft Flying Bridge Cruiser - Pre 'S' Issue

Vaccuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

Rare first release from 1953 in a Pre-S box. The box is in investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. The model is very wel detailed and molded in the beautiful and correct wood-grain swirl deep gloss brown plastic. Never started. Inside, the kit is as it came from the factory with all of the small parts in the factory sealed bag; the large parts were never sealed and have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions. NOTE: one bridge side window frame is broken off at the base; the parts are present and fit back perfectly for a straight-forward repair. This was Revell's second ship model that they cut their own molds for (the first was the long-box USS Missouri). Predating both of these were some Revell marketed ships that were actually from ex-Gowland molds. Around the time that Revell was marketing the Gowlan-made Highway Pioneers, Gowland also cut molds for series of small-scale historical sailing ships. They were marketed both with and without bottles. These early ships set the stage for higher-quality and greater detail among American manufacturers and were a vast improvement over the Highway Pioneers.
