Heller 1/48 SNECMA Coleoptere - Two Piece Box Issue plastic model kit

1/48 Heller SNECMA Coleoptere - Two Piece Box Issue

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc-

Very rare early Heller issue from the late 1950s. This is the two-piece high gloss box with very desirable artwork. Please note that on these early kits Heller did not assign kit numbers on the box. Very nicely molded kit in big 1/48 scale. This kit has never been started. It is either still in the internally sealed factory bag or has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. Please note that Heller did not issue decals with this early release. Shipping insurance is required. The Societe National d'Etude et de Construction de Moteurs d'Aviation (SNECMA) Coleoptere was a French vertical take-off and landing design that was to make expensive (and vulnerable) airfields obsolete. A thrust ratio of greater than 1:1 was achieved, and tests began in 1956. The design did fly and stole the show at Le Bourget in June 1957. However, like the Lockheed Pogo, it proved to be dangerous and quite a handful to fly.
