Dated 1957 with classic Jo Kotula artwork. This is the first issue of this kit; note 69 cent price extension and 'Famous Fighters' in the sunburst logo. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. This is part of the famous Aurora WWI series of 1/48 scale aircraft. The series began in 1956 and Aurora added new kits into the early 1960s. The line proved incredibly popular, so these kits were included in the 'mold upgrade' in the 1970s before Aurora went out of business.

Original dealer promotional model. AMT went to a good deal of effort on this model. It features a all-metal chassis with a keywind motor, metal axles and gear, metal front bumper & metal rear bumper and clear in all 9 windows. Plastic color is a stunning midnight blue that still has excellent gloss. The body is very good and only has slight warping compared to most. Clear is very nice but can use cleaning. The tires are like new - if it was played with, it was not for long. No parts are missing and it is original except that some of the fine trim (door handles, etc) has been very neatly adult painted. The quality is good enough to pass for factory paint.

Rare 1976 release that is 36 inches long and 27 inches high when assembled. Highly detailed and has the correct changes for this ship. Includes sails and full rigging. Inside, the kit has never been started. All parts except the hull (which was never sealed) are still sealed in the factory bags. All instructions, rigging diagrams, vacuform sails and pre-formed ratlines are included. The vacuform sails grade 'excellent' condition which is well above average. The Revell model depicts the vessel as modified for use as a flagship, with a much enlarged, rebuilt stern and "roundhouse." Writer Herman Melville's (apparently unenthusiastic) service on this vessel, including many details of equipment and life aboard, is detailed in his autobiographical novel, "White-Jacket"(1850).
