They are highly detailed kit and designed so you can build them as flying model rockets or static display. Both kits are never started. The Vostok has the white plastic parts still in the factory sealed bag; the clear and chrome parts were never sealed and are inventoried complete, however NOTE: missing parachute, shock cord & mount, shroud lines, engine tube/holder & shroud line stickers (in other words, the flying parts). The Titan IIC has all of the white parts still in the factory sealed bag; the chrome and clear parts were never factory sealed and are inventoried complete. However, NOTE: again, the 'flying parts' (parachute, shock cord & mount, larger flying fins, etc., etc.) are missing. Both kits included 'near mint' condition decals and instructions.

Very nice model from high quality ex-Crown molds. This is often considered the finest Cold-War B-52 due to the large and varied weapons load. It is an older but excellent model with all recessed panel line detail. Features all the missiles listed. Has markings for two modern BUFFS - 96th BS, 2nd BW Barksdale AFB 2001 and 93rd BS 40th Air Expeditionary Wing 2001. The Skybolt was a plan to deliver an ALBM (Air Launched Ballistic Missile) from a B-52 to greatly enhance survivability. Skybolt failed 5 of 6 initial tests, but finally was successful. However, the program was canceled due to the availability of the Polaris SLBM. Plans to equip the RAF Vulcan with Skybolt fell through and left with British with no modern nuclear force, causing them to adapt the Polaris SLBM and passing strategic nuclear capability from the RAF to the RN. AGM-28 Hound Dog was a sleek design to help B-52 penetrate thick SAM defenses. Hound Dog could use its engines to help the B-52 during take off and then could be refueled from the B-52 tanks. This was an important point as the B-52 carried 2 of these missiles at 5 tons each. Hound Dog had a range of 200 to 500 miles (depending on launch height) at Mach 2.0 and an accuracy of one mile at those ranges. The warhead was 4 megatons. SRAM was a nuclear-armed short range missile carried in quantity of 20. SRAM was designed to blast holes in defenses in front of the B-52 and could also be used for the final target. Quail was a decoy that would mimic the B-52 with radar reflectors, infrared, radar repeaters and chaff decoys. Quail did reach operational status and operated on some Hound Dog-equipped B-52s. The kit has never been started. All parts but the fuselage tree are still in the factory sealed bags. The one opened tree has been inventoried complete, including decals and instructions.

Hard-to-find 198s issue from quality Airfix molds. The box art mistakenly calls this a destroyer, but it is the famous light cruiser from the famous Battle of River Plate with the Graf Spee. (Furthermore, MPC calls the heavy Cruiser HMS Suffolk a "Battle Cruiser.") Never started and the parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. The box displays better than the 'good++' grade but is ranked as such because the small panel with with the 'Golden Opportunity' tokens (on the side) has been neatly cut away.

1982 issue from the original 1970s molds. Large 21 inch long kit that is well detailed for that time. Features detailed conning tower and periscopes, swiveling anti-aircraft guns, detailed torpedo tubes, rudder and screws and a display stand. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried and NOTE: missing one part, (1) bow diving plane (of 2). Easily made from flat plastic stock using the other side as template. Otherwise complete with all other parts and includes decals and instructions. USS Growler was captained by Commander Howard W. Gilmore. On February 7, 1943, Growler was patrolling on the surface in the Pacific when an enemy vessel was spotted close aboard. The enemy changed course to ram and succeeded, leaving Growler and the Hayasaki crippled. However, escort ship opened fire with .60 caliber machine gun fire from close range, mortally wounding Commander Gilmore. His dying words were 'Take her down.' He remained on the bridge while the sub crash-dove to safety. Gilmore received the Navy Cross, Gold Star and a posthumous Medal of Honor.

U-99 was one of the most active and successful early boats under the command of Otto Kretschmer. She survived 7 active patrols but was sunk on the 8th patrol on March 17, 1941. 40 of the crew survived the sinking, including Kretschmer, who accounted for the greatest tonnage of shipping sunk by any commander in WWII.
