This is the only 1/72 injection molded 727 kit ever issued. This well detailed and very large model is molded in gray and clear plastic and features many fine high-definition cast resin details. In a discussion with the manufacturer, he told me that the molds for this kit have been destroyed, so no reissue is possible. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals (in 'near mint' condition) and instructions.

The Heyford was the last big biplane bomber to serve with the RAF and equipped 11 First-Line Squadrons at the time. The prototype first flew in 1930 and had many novel features such as retractable ventral turret and the wing attached to the underside of the top wing for excellent visibility. It was soon nicknamed 'Express Bomber' due to it's ability to carry a large bomb load, fly at high speeds and be rapidly re-armed, serviced and repaired. The model includes parts and decals for all three variants from 102(B) RAF Sq. 1938, No. 99 Sq 1934 and No. 7(B) Sq. 1935. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.

Inside each box was a quality Airfix kit but with MPC decals to build any of the three aircraft shown on the box top (VS-2 G. Leppla and J. Liska (downed 7 enemy aircraft in two days with this aircraft) USS Lexington / VMB-2 Marines Late 1940 / VMSB-231 Marines 1943). Well detailed kit. Has parts and decals to make -3 or -5 versions.
