Sold

Well detailed and finely molded model from 1979 features 129 pieces, complete cockpit and full interior with floor and benches, optional position boarding doors and stairs and more. Never started. The Horsa MkI carrier troops while the MkII carried vehicles which loaded through the swing nose and unloaded from an explosively-released rear fuselage after landing. Gliders carried in 20% of the reinforcements and supplies for D-Day, and most were Horsas. They also saw action against the German Heavy Water (Atomic Bomb) plants in Norway and targets in Sicily, Arnhem and the Rhine.

The side logos still have the old 'Famous Fighters' in the border. Usually molded in the correct gloss olive drab and black plastic and with the chock ground base and pilot & mechanic figures.

Lindberg PHOTO ONLY - SOLD, 1/64, 525-249

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair-

Sold

Classic kit from the late 1950s with dramatic box art by Ray Gaedke. This was the first big-scale, high quality kit ever made of the B-17 and Lindberg could hardly keep the hobby shop shelves stocked. If you have built this model, you know that it is well molded, fits together easily and has excellent detail for that time. It features movable rudder, elevators & ailerons, rotating and elevating gun turrets, retractable main landing gear and tail gear, crew members, 'good' cockpit detail, rotating propellers & wheels and a large, clear adjustable display stand. Inside, the kit has never been started and is inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the box is only in 'fair-' condition and not collectible. It is very beat up and worn and just a notch above being 'Poor' condition.

Monogram Boeing 727 TWA - (ex Aurora), 1/96, 5414

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

Sold

1978 issue after Monogram bought and modified the Aurora molds. Monogram only reissued the best and most commercially viable models. In this case, they saw the molds could be improved and did so. The result is a much better and accurate kit, the best 'short' body 727 available in near 1/100 scale. Monogram added a network of very fine raised panel lines to the fuselage (the original had no panel lines), filled the deep e-doors over the wings and made them fine raised also, added wing fences and fine raised panel lines to the wings, added flap hinges to the wing undersides and added fine raised panel lines to the horizontal stabilizers. Monogram was evidently proud of the improvement, and even shows them on the assembly drawings. With full landing gear. Includes TWA full stripes and window decals. This kit has not been started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing clear cockpit windows. Otherwise complete with all other parts. Includes decals and instructions. NOTE: decals are damaged. There is enough left that you could restore them using the procedure outlined in the two articles on this website about how to save old decals. If not, you will need to provide your own decals.

Comet Boeing 707 Stratotanker (367-80 - Dash 80) - BAGGED, 1/125, PL800-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: No Box

Sold

NOTE: Bagged kit - there is no box. The box is shown for reference only. Comet originally began model production in 1929 with a line of balsa flying models. In the mid-1950s Comet made a beautiful line of small and medium scale aircraft and missile models with colorful boxes. The early issues were in one-piece 'flip-top' boxes, and the later issues and releases were in standard two-piece 'hardboxes' with a lithograph slick glued to the top box. In 1963 Comet sold the plastic kit molds to Aurora, who reissued some but not all of the kits. There were two Boeing 707 models made. This is the two-piece box larger scale (1/125) 'Stratotanker' - not really a tanker model at all, but a nice kit of the famous Dash-80 Prototype Air Force Tanker/707, which lead to the world's first commercially-successful airliner and the legendary KC-135 air-to-air refueler. Well molded with fine recessed panel lines, full landing gear and prototype decals. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. NOTE: one lower wing is a gray color instead of silver. It is from another issue of this same kit.

Aurora Nieuport II, 1/48, 101-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Factory sealed and in investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. 1960s issue with fantastic John Steel artwork. This is part of the famous Aurora WWI series of 1/48 scale aircraft. The series began in 1956 and Aurora added new kits into the early 1960s. The line proved incredibly popular, so these kits were included in the 'mold upgrade' in the 1970s before Aurora went out of business.

Merlin Models Hawker Hart Frog Penguin Replica, 1/72

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

Have you ever wanted to build the world's first injection molded plastic kits? Well, now you can and for an affordable price. As you know, Frog in England produced the world's first plastic model kits starting back in 1938. Merlin Models receive permission for this very limited edition, exact replica of this historic Frog Penguin kit. Nicely molded. Also includes photocopies of the original Penguin instructions. The kit has never been started and is complete with all parts and paperwork. In the late 1930s, before WWII, Frog created the world's first line of injection molded plastic model kits. Since Frog stood for 'Flies Right Off the Ground' and Frog had a famous line of flying models, the world's first all injection molded kits were called Frog Penguin for the bird that does not fly. The Penguin Hart was among the early pre-war releases by Frog.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please note the stain on the upper left of the box; it extends down the adjacent long and short sides. The decals are not affected and are in 'near mint' condition. Operational service began in 1947 and Hu-16s saw wartime action in Vietnam.
