Aurora The Hunchback of Notre Dame - Universal Pictures, 1/8, 461-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$250

Very rare original issue hardbox kit from 1963. The box is in 'very good+' condition with great color and gloss. The flaws are light corner and very light edge wear, as well as a very fine vertical scratch on the center left; it may not show up in the photo but it is there. All four corners are solid and there are no tape or price tags or marks. Inside, the kit is molded in the correct tan. It has never been started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts. The instructions are in 'excellent' condition with light yellowing. This kit must be shipped insured.

The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora Grumman S2F Hunter Killer, 1/54, 145-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM+

$64

1963 hardbox issue in amazing investment-grade "Near Mint+" condition. The original owner opened the box but very carefully left the clear plastic on the box top. This is the larger of the two Comet molds for the S2F. Molded in the correct dark Navy Blue and clear plastic. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present.

Aurora British SE-5 Scout - White Rectangle Issue, 1/48, 103-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$65

Very rare version and the rarest of all Aurora SE-5s. Note that the rectangular background for the oval 'Famous Fighters' logo is white and not the more common yellow. The two issues are identical other than the background color for the lower-right rectangle. The hardbox is dated 1956 with the original Jim Cox box art but with the 1957 oval 'Famous Fighters' logo. The original rectangle 'Northern Lights'; logo has been neatly blotted out with a white rectangle of the same size. The fact that the price is still 69 cents (as the original issue) means this issue is very late 1956 or very early '57. Molded in gloss olive green and black. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: there is a short tape tear on the lower long side measuring 1/2" x 1/4" and two dark, translucent tape stains (1" x 3/8") on the upper long side.

Aurora Douglas M2 Mailplane - Western Air Express M-2 US Mail Service, 1/48, 775

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed VG+

$46

Still in the factory seal. Dated 1976. At this late date in Aurora history, they were only releasing the best molds and usually after some scale modifications. This model contains decals for two Western Air Express aircraft.

Aurora AT-6 Texan, 1/48, 70-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair++

$54

From 1956 and the rare first issue of this classic kit. Please note the early rectangular logo "Aurora Line" logo. It is molded in silver and clear plastic and includes the correct early rectangular clear base Aurora stand, the correct instructions showing this base, and the correct early Tatem decals which Aurora issued without a stand decal. (Aurora included stand decals with the introduction of the triangular 'world' base style clear stand.) Molded in silver and clear plastic. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the box displays better than the 'fair++' grade is because the box has a thin border of masking tape along the lower sides.

Aurora North American F-100 Super Sabre, 1/103, 490-50

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$52

Dated 1961 with the great Jim Cox artwork that makes these early Aurora kits so collectible & popular. This issue has a slightly larger box than earlier ones. This is a very good kit for that time, molded in a beautiful gloss silver & clear, with full landing gear and the clear 'Triangle World Map' stand. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Please note, this is not a reissue of the Comet model. Aurora cut these molds years before acquiring Comet's F-100.

Aurora SNJ Trainer, 1/48, 80-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$44

1960/61 issue with the 'Famous Fighters' oval starburst logo. Of all of the variations with this artwork, this one seems to show up the least. This was a good kit for the time, featuring cockpit detail, pilot and student figures, rotating propeller and more. Includes US Navy decals. Molded in bright yellow and clear. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora F7U Cutlass Navy Jet Fighter, 1/70, 496-49

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

$55

Early issued dated 1959. Please note that the logo is the 'Famous Fighters' in the border with the sunburst inside, which is the earliest oval Aurora logo. From the amazing Jo Kotula artwork you can see why these kits are so famous and so collectible today. Never started. Inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present.

SALE!! Dated 1963. Nicely molded kit that was popular for decades. Feature great Jo Kotula box art, pilot and cockpit, detailed engine, ground crew member and ground display base with wheel chocks. Molded in tan and black plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. This is part of the famous Aurora WWI series of 1/48 scale aircraft. The series began in 1956 and Aurora added new kits into the early 1960s. The line proved incredibly popular, so these kits were included in the 'mold upgrade' in the 1970s before Aurora went out of business.

Aurora USS Missouri BB-63 Battleship - Young Model Builders Club Issue, 1/600, 774

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$89

Early 1970s issue of this famous kit in the YMBC release. It is in the original white 'mailer' box with the factory-glued lithograph 'slick' in 'excellent' condition. Features a one-piece full hull, propeller and rudder detail, rotating turrets, separately molded and positionable 5" secondary battery and quad 40mm AA battery, two float planes and catapults, display stand, name plate and decals. Never started and the parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. I have good memories of this model - because of the one piece hull, it floated very well. That and the "good" detail made it an ideal platform for BB gun target practice on my friends lake.

Aurora Patton Tank M48 - 8th Army / 8th Army 6th Tank Bat. / 24th Infantry Division, 1/48, 321-150

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

$89

Still factory sealed. This 1969 hardbox issue in amazing, investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. Hard-to-find, 1/48 scale model featuring elevating gun, rotating turret, figures, operating treads and bogies and battlefield display stand. There are markings for the three different tanks listed.

Aurora Braniff Boeing 747 - Braniff International Air Lines Jumbo Jet - Young Model Builders Club Issue, 1/156, 750

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$59

This is the early 1970s Young Model Builders Club release of the classic Aurora 747. It is still in the original 'mailer' box with the glued-on lithograph slick. This colorful model features full color Braniff markings, big 15" wingspan, clear cockpit windshield, detailed 18 wheel landing gear and large display stand. Molded in 'Great Pumpkin' orange and clear. Never started and the parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Aurora Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina, 1/74, 374

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$79

Rare, first issue artwork from about 1955. This was a fine effort by Aurora for that time and an impressive model when assembled. Features retracting pontoons and rotating props. Includes correct early logo instructions which show the clear 'Triangle World' stand and the correct stand is included. This must be one of the first instances of the 'Triangle' stand being used as it is normally associated with oval 'Famous Fighter' logo kits. Molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The box has great color and gloss and would grade at least 'good' but it has two small factory tape tears on each long side. This model was made after Aurora found out that the scale on the box top was wrong and was factory 'blotted out' with a black circle at the top left.

Aurora The Blue Knight of Milan, 1/8, 472

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$45

1960s Aurora of Great Britain issue with great box art. This model contains a large 1/8 scale knight, base, both red and white plumes (like the box art) and instructions. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the box had a closed tear across the bottom, about 1" up from the lowest point. This has been neatly repaired from the inside but that is why the box only grades 'good-.' In the mid 1950s, Aurora bought three 'Knight' molds from Crown Plastics and issued them as K1, K2 and K3. These were the very first Aurora figure kits and they sported the 1956-only rectangular 'Northern Lights' logo with the correct 'Crown Line' logo inside it. The sales success of the Knight prompted Aurora to launch an entire line of figure kits. The knights themselves stayed in production long after many other figures were discontinued.

Aurora Lockheed F-90 Fighter, 1/48, 33-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$159

Rare 1/48 scale kit. The hardbox is dated 1958. This is a rare variant which has the 'Famous Fighters' present in the oval logo sunburst logo but does not have the Parents' Magazine Seal and the '98' in a circle at the upper right. The model is molded in silver and clear and includes full landing gear and wing-mounted rockets. Includes Aurora's clear triangle-based two-piece stand. Molded in silver and clear plastic. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. This is reissue of one of Aurora's first two kits (F-90 and F9F) which were actually copies of the Hawk molds. This caused more than one tense meeting at toy trade shows.

Aurora Jap Zero Famous Fighters of All Nations, 1/48, 88A-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$325

Very rare. Most likely made in 1955 or maybe 1954. Please note the square 'Aurora Line' small logo and the 'Famous Fighters of All Nations' text to the left of it. The model is 100% correct inside, includes the original factory tissue packing paper, is molded in gloss yellow plastic and clear with the correct rectangular clear stand, four bombs and landing gear. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Nothing is broken; the instructions are in 'near mint' condition and the decals are 100% intact, just very slightly curled just at the ends and in 'very good+' condition. The box has excellent color and gloss but even wear on the top as shown; there is a tape tear on the left short side (1" x 3/4") and another smaller one on the right short side (3/8" x 1/4"). I believe this is the 4rd issue of this famous kit. The first was the Brooklyn, then the two 'Carrier' boxes, 88-59 and 88-69.
