Hawk Weird-Ohs Daddy The Way Out Suburbanite, 532-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$18

Original issue hardbox model. NOTE: builder only (not collectible), please read carefully. In 1962, Bill Campbell thought that kids may be tired of the same old modeling subjects, and he created the Weird-Ohs. Of course it was not that simple - it never is. Please read Bill's own account of the Weird-Ohs on this website. Regardless of the path, the Weird-Ohs became an overnight sensation that helped launch the 'monster' and the 'figure' phase of modeling. NOTE: this model has minor but neat assembly. The rear tires halves (4 parts total), body tub top and bottom (2 parts), body halves (2 parts), suitcase halves (2 parts) and arm halves (4 parts) have been built to 'near mint to professional' quality. The lower body part is painted red to 'very good+' quality. There is no other painting or assembly. Inventoried and missing one small part: (1) of (2) #21, a small flat fin (triangle). Easily made from flat plastic stock using the remaining part as a pattern. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts, decals and instructions present.

Hasegawa Fokker DR.1 (DR-1) Triplane Museum Model - 1/8 Scale, 1/8, ZX3-69800

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$1200

Very rare and large 1/8 scale museum quality kit. The three 1/8 aircraft in this series are widely considered to be the finest model aircraft ever produced. This kit duplicates the classic DR-1 using many of the original material in a near perfect representation of the inner structure of the aircraft. There are 857 parts made from die-cut plywood, Japanese cypress, cast soft metal, brass, aluminum, rubber, injection molded plastic and many other materials. The wingspan is 838mm (33 inches) when assembled. The engineering of the kit is world-class right down to the assembly plans. This kit has never been started. Inside, all the special internal boxes and inserts are included and in mint condition. Additionally, the vast majority of the parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The parts that were not sealed have been inventoried 100% complete. Includes all paperwork - illustrated parts list, instructions and three sets of roll-out plans. NOTE: plan set 'B' is in fair condition. It is complete but has wrinkles and some closed tears. Plans 'A' and 'C' are professionally printed copies of original Hasegawa plans from my collection. Please note, this item must be shipped insured.

Aurora Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, 1/270, 494-49

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$145

Very rare and even rarer in this condition. First issue and with the one-year only rectangular logo. Dramatic Jo Kotula box art with 1956 date. The box is the finest I have seen. It has like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs, no tape or tape marks, no tags or tag marks, no fading, and no tear or missing litho. The only flaws are the light edge and corner wear shown at the bottom right and other (even lighter) shelf wear that probably not even visible in the photo. Molded in correct silver and clear with correct rectangular clear stand. A nice kit for that time, it features full centerline landing gear and outrigger struts and gear doors as well as clear cockpit canopy, outboard slipper fuel tanks, display stand and decals. It has the correct early rectangle-base clear Aurora stand, which is also shown on the instructions. Molded in the correct gloss silver and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Instructions are mint and the decals are 'near mint.' It is interesting to note that this is not a reissue of the Comet molds - the two models are not even close to the same size or scale. This kit is original to Aurora, was made before Aurora acquired the Comet molds and also varies in a great many details. It appears that Aurora never even re-issued the Comet B-52, probably because they had a superior model already in the same low price range.

RCM USS Ward DD139 - WWI / WWII, 1/72

Vacuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: Bagged

$125

Very large (1/72) partial) kit of this historic destroyer. Includes information so you can build it as she was in World War I or World War II. This is a really basic kit consisting of a 2 piece hull, some small vac pieces and a lot of resin small items such as the screws, bitts, cleats, guns, etc. It includes full size plans and 15 pages of detailed instructions that include photographs. The instructions list the fittings required (Bluejacket and Model Shipways). SPECIAL ORDER only; not shipped from stock. Kit is molded upon receipt of payment. Time from receipt to shipping your kit is usually 8 to 10 weeks. This model is not recommended for builders lacking experience with vacuform kits. Scratch building skills will be essential. The USS Ward is said to have fired the first shots of World War II. Before the main strike on Pearl Harbor, the Ward was on patrol. She located and sank one of five Japanese Midget Submarines.

Aurora Martin B-26 Marauder, 1/46, 371-259

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$245

Very rare first issue from the early 1950s. When Aurora moved to the West Hempstead plant, they planned a series of very large scale bombers. All kits released up to this time had been small. Aurora's instincts were correct, and the B-26, B-25 and B-29 were a big sales success. This box art was done by Jim Cox and was only used for about one year, making it very rare. The kit has never been started and is inventoried 100% complete with the original tissue paper, all parts, large clear stand, instructions and decals.

Nichimo Nakajima B5N2 Kate - Motorized Radar Aircraft 931 Sq / Carrier Zuiho / Commander Fuchida's Aircraft IJN Zuikaku / IJN Shokaku, 1/48, S-4813

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

$36

Very nicely molded model with all very fine recessed panel lines. Features highly detailed interior, engine, crew, choice of four load-out options and decals for four aircraft and painting guide. Markings are included for Fuchida's Pearl Harbor aircraft from Zuikaku (bomb load), Shokaku (many smaller bombs), Zuiho (Torpedo load) or a radar equipped aircraft from the 931 Air Squadron. The kit is intended to be motorized with the Mabuchi Baby motor and has full instructions for such, but the motor itself was not furnished by Nichimo. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.
