Large parasol design for sport or competition free flight. Features all die-cut balsa sheet wood and die-cut plywood parts, fully formed training edges, hardware, hinge material, covering tissue, decals and full plans/instructions. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and plans present. Carl Goldberg was a gifted designer of model aircraft, and his career spanned the evolution of flying models. His designs and number of titles won in competition at the Nationals is legendary. His first competition was the 1928 Nationals, where he received honorable mention. By 1934 he won the indoor Nats and in 1935 he opened a Hobby Shop, among the first in the nation (the first one was probably opened by Cleveland Models Ed Packard). Awards came quickly. He wrote articles for Model Airplane News, and was Comet's top designer from 1939 till 1945. After Comet, he worked with Mike Schlesinger and Sid Axelrod on what eventually became Top-Flite Models. In 1955 he founded Carl Goldberg Models and released a still-popular line of scale, rubber, gas, glider and RC models. Needless to say, Goldberg's models are of the highest quality.

1960 hardbox issue. This classic kit is a reissue of the 'S' kit from the 1950s, and is one of the last issues to include the fuel truck and engine check stand with ground crew member. The box is solid with four perfect corners, very good color and gloss but wear as shown. The kit has never been started. Inside it is like new with all parts and paperwork still sealed in the internal factory sealed bag.
