This is the military version of this unique aircraft which was originally used as an airline transport. Originally powered by two 600 hp diesel engines, the Ju-86 was first used in the Spanish Civil War. The diesels were unsuitable for combat and replaced by conventional BWM 132 radials, which was the start of the more successful 'E' variant. This Ju-86 continued to see limited use in WWII on many fronts and in service to several countries. The ultimate developments of this aircraft were the Ju-86P-1 and P-2. P-2s few at up to 49,000 feet and Ju-86R reached an operational ceiling of 52,200 feet. The model features 129 pieces, very good cockpit, four crew members, rotating propellers, optional position landing gear and more. Includes paint guide and decals for Hungarian and two Luftwaffe versions: Neubrandenburg 1940 and Stalingrad 1942. Never started. The actual aircraft parts have been inventoried complete but NOTE: missing display stand. Otherwise contains all other parts. With decals and instructions.

Highly detailed and finely molded 1/700 scale waterline model that includes air wing. Never started. All parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. IJN Taiyo began life as the NYK ocean liner Kasuga Maru. Kasuga Maru was one of a class of three Japanese ocean liners that were built for the Nippon Yusen K line. She was launched in September 1940 and saw very little or no service (accounts vary) as a transport before her conversion to the escort carrier Taiyo. Given the size and machinery of this class of liner, the IJN subsidized their construction and knew they would make fine escort carriers. The Taiyo went on to have a very active career. She was attacked many times and damaged several times. Taiyo was eventually sunk in a submarine attack in August 1944 with a heavy loss of life by the USS Rasher.

28 inch wingspan kit for RC, CO2, free flight, control line or non-flying detailed scale kit. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they featured color decals, high-grade die cut balsa, vacuform plastic detail parts, plastic wheels (if required), finished wire landing gear, rubber motor and plastic prop, full size plans with instruction details and full instructions for conversion to RC or control line. The model has not been started. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Dated 1960. Very rare ICBM and the first and only issue of this incredibly well detailed Revell 'S' kit. The molds were altered to make the Mercury Atlas kit, so reissues are impossible. The box grades 'Excellent' with wonderful color and gloss, four solid corners, no price tags or tag marks, no tape and no tape marks (other than the factory sealing tape, of course). The box has general wear as shown. The kit features elevating missile support arms and hinged break-away supports, complete launching base, ramp and pad, missile truck and trailer that elevates 90 degrees to load missile and crew. Molded in correct white, gray and yellow. Inside, it has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The decals are 100% intact, flat and in 'excellent' condition with typical light yellowing; the instructions are in 'very good' condition. Shipping insurance is required for this kit. From my friend Stephen Payne, Major, USAF (Ret): The launch pad in both kits used Launch Complex - 14 (also known as Space Launch Complex-14 or "Slic-14") as their example. LC-14 was part of what was known as ICBM Row at Cape Canaveral and originally used to test the Atlas ICBM prior to being converted for the Mercury Space Program (starting with John Glenn's orbital mission). The yellow & white trailers seen here were the gaseous nitrogen tube bank trailers. The nitrogen trailer in both Atlas kits came from the accessories associated with the Revell Thor kit. Having spent 5 years working at the Cape, I passed this site numerous times. Unfortunately, time & the elements have resulted in the removal of all remnants of SLC-14. Only the memorial (with the associated time capsule) remains.

Very Rare. This is a highly prefabricated canard motor-glider model that includes a plastic fuselage with all necessary holes already factory made, plenty of room for standard-size servos, factory-built balsa skinned wings with built in main spars & machined leading edges, vacu-molded plastic cockpit and canopy, machined & pre-cut foreplane panels, sheets of die-cut wooden parts, R/C hardware packet and more. Includes color decals, extensive full-size plans and a large instruction book in four languages including English. Never started. Inside, the kit is exactly as it left the factory. Robbe sealed almost every part in clear bags; the only parts not sealed in bags are wooden strip stock, and they are sealed together with Robbe white and red tape. Includes all paperwork.

The last full size Chevrolet with rear wheel drive was the famous (or infamous, depending on your point of view) Caprice. Described as "Beautifully Aerodynamic" or "An Upside-Down Bathtub", most folks either loved or hated the design. But there was no mistaking the popularity and reliability. Civil sales were impressive and fleet sales to taxi or public service sectors were even more so. This kit is well detailed with full engine, engine compartment, opening hood, full suspension and underbody, complete interior, optional parts for Fire Chief and Taxi versions, rubber tires and much more. NOTE: this kit has minor, 'professional' quality subassembly as follows: upper control arms, radiator & front suspension to chassis; (1) side view mirror to door; light bar built. There is no other assembly. Inventoried and NOTE: missing (1) part, the fire-chief radio. Otherwise complete with all other parts and includes decals and instructions.

Rare early 1960s model from the original 1950s Adams molds. Well molded and detailed for that time featuring three Hawk Missiles, movable wheels and flexible tracks, elevating lift & supports, three figures and decals. Molded in gloss white and dark olive drab plastic. Never started and all parts and decals are still in the original factory-sealed bag. With instructions. These molds must have had a very interesting history. The molds were cut in 1955 or 1956, either at Adams or by one of Revell's contractors. It appeared to be part of the Adams/Revell 1/40 line but Revell never issued the kit. The famous HO model train manufacturer Athearn purchased the Adams molds. Ahtearn used the name SNAP for all plastic kit releases and slightly modified the molds by adding their name (SNAP) & logo to a part (or two) of each kit. This Hawk Missile Carrier kit is made in the USA but is actually a SNAP export to Canada; the importer was 'International Games of Canada Limited' in 'New Toronto Ontario.' They used a silver overprint to block out the kit number and pric extension and then added '#159 in Canada.' Then UPC (Universal Power Master) either leased or purchased (probably the former) the Adams molds from SNAP in the 1960s. While most UPC kits say 'Made in Japan' the ex-Adams models do not and say 'Made in USA'. Things get even more interesting with the Life-Like issue. How Life-Like came across the molds is unfortunately unknown but it may have been in a bulk purchase of molds from Athearn since there were in the same general part of the country. This is simply conjecture, however.

Very rare "Northern Lights' logo first issue from 1956. Even rarer in amazing, investment-grade 'Near Mint+' condition. The box has factory-new gloss and color, four solid corners, no stains, creases, tears or fading. It has no price tags (or marks from any) and incredibly it even missed the factory tape machine - there is no tape and no marks or stains from tape. Very, very light wear is the only flaw. Earlier in the 1950s a company called 'Helicopters for Industry' created a line of large early kits. In 1956 Aurora bought the molds and quickly reissued these models with new box artwork. Features cockpit seats, control sticks and instrument panel, full landing gear and decals for all four versions listed. Molded in the correct high-gloss olive drab and clear plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
Resin Model Kit, Box Condition: NM
$135
Rare kit features a fantastic resin cast waterline hull of higher quality than any injection moldings could achieve, large details cast in resin and a very large number of precision cast metal small parts, metal stock and a well detailed set of instructions with the ship and class history. These resin castings are professionally done and appear to have been done in a pressure chamber as I cannot spot any air bubbles. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions, exploded parts diagram and excellent side and top detail drawings. I have listed HMS Princess Royal because the manufacturer listed the instructions as "HMS Lion and Princess Royal." I do not know what changes (if any) must be made to do Princess Royal and the instructions do not list them. Thanks to James Natt for giving us this history: 'Classic Warships' was by Steve Wiper, who (as of 2022) still produces the 'Classic Warships Profiles' in soft cover. These resin kits were well produced and included everything except photo etch. He stopped producing these models around 2000 and sold all his molds and to Chris Decker. Chris re-boxed, improved the instructions, added decals and Tom's Modelworks photoetch (both where appropriate) and sold them under the label 'Midship Models'. That ended around 2010. Both the original CW and later Midship Models are much sought after by ship modelers, especially the USN battleships.
