Huma Model DFS-346 Supersonic High Speed & Altitude Reconnaissance, 1/72, 4002

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$38

Rare injection molded kit. Features fine, all recessed panel lines, cockpit module, prone pilot, landing skid, markings for Luftwaffe and USSR versions and full instructions with fascinating history notes. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The DFS-346 was to pggy-back launch from a Do-217 and then operate at up to 100,000 feet and supersonic speeds where enemy interception was impossible. The pilot's pressure cabin could, in an emergency, be blown free with four explosive bolts. After the separated front module reached a safe altitude where the pilot could survive without oxygen, the pilot was ejected and a parachute deployed. Power was two Walther HWK 109-509 rocket engines. The Western Allies searched for this aircraft after the war but failed to find it; later they learned that the Soviets had captured the prototype and had used German technicians under Russian supervision to build and test this aircraft (and modified new prototypes) right after the war as the "Samolyot 346."

Special Hobby Blohm & Voss P.194 (P-194), 1/72, 72008

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$30

Unique design submitted to RLM in 1944 by Richard Vogt of B&V. This aircraft featured mix propulsion; a turbojet in the pilots pod and a piston engine on the tailplane pod. It was seen as a multi role aircraft; fighter, escort, recon and bomber (it had an internal bomb bay in the fuselage). The project was not pursued due to the poor war situation at the time. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Revell Dornier DO-X Flying Boat - (DoX) - (Ex-Otaki), 1/144, 4225

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed VG+

$38

Sale Pending
Email for availability.

Still factory sealed but the seal has split. From quality Otaki molds and very nicely detailed. The Do-X was a famous trans-Atlantic German Flying Boat built in 1929. Dornier dreamed that this huge aircraft would become a trans-oceanic airliner with passengers traveling in ocean liner-like luxury. A tour of South and North American was conducted, but orders never materialized due to excessive fuel consumption and a lack of power. Total load was 170 passengers and crew, and the 12 engines developed 7200 HP.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed VG+

$49

Still factory sealed. Hard-to-find first and only issue dated 1980. This is more than fantasy - the California Highway Patrol was testing Z28s at the time this kit was made. Revell DC-8 Jet Mainliner United Airlines, 1/143, H242

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$62

Revell of Germany issue, although the box text and instructions are all in English. Likely from the 1970s. From the same molds as 1955-1959 'S' issue. Kit has many special features: cowlings snap off to show detailed engines, wheels turn, doors can be opened or closed and a passenger loading ramp included with United Decals. Never started. All parts are still in the factory sealed bag. With decals and instructions. The box is graded 'good' because there is age foxing on it as shown.

Revell USS Constitution Old Ironsides, 1/192, H319-300

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$44

A superb model kit. Revell's early ships were remarkably well molded and detailed and this Constitution is no exception. Features full hull with fine planking and copper sheathing detail (down to tiny rivets on the copper plates), full deck fittings, preformed ratlines, rigging material and full rigging instructions. Most likely the 5th issue of this kit by the light green background and 300 price extension. The box artwork is from the "S" issue and is dated 1956, but the side panels now show the early issues of the Thermopylae, early (incorrect) SSBN Abraham Lincoln and several Picture Fleet ships, dating it in about 1960 or 1961. Never started. The tan parts are still factory sealed. The black parts have been inventoried complete. With flag sheet and instructions as well as two very colorful trading cards for the Carrier Coral Sea and and F9F Cougar.
