Fred Megow was another famous pioneer in the model aircraft field. His fascinating story involves trying novel and untested marketing ideas in the Great Depression, followed my explosive world-wide growth. Mr. Megow was a true pioneer in the early days of modeling and a leader in the low price field so that every boy could afford a kit during those difficult times. This glider has a 20 inch wingspan and dates from 1940. It is made from solid balsa and includes full size plans. It even includes a glass container of liquid cement - which is still good! Very hard to find and large (1/100) kit of the large Russian four-engined civil transport. Fantastic Cold War Box art. KVZ was the logo used by this East German kit manufacturer from 1969 to 1973. During this time, some unique Cold War kits were produced of Russian Airliners and Military Helicopters and Aircraft. The kit is molded in white, clear, silver and black and has very fine raised detail and some recessed panels. The kit decals are for Aeroflot. The kit has never been started. 1953 first release Pre 'S' kit in the nicest condition narrow hard boxes that I have seen. The box is graded 'Excellent ++' has very light wear and great color. The corners are solid and there is no tape or tears.. This is the first ship that Revell cut the molds for. Earlier Revell ship releases were Ex-Gowland and Gowland molds for the small scale sailing ship series. Inside the kit is 100% correct. The plastic is the high gloss medium gray. The instructions are the correct 'large' release for the first issue. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts, flag sheet and instructions present.

Second issue of this wonderful kit. Hardbox is dated 1966. The 540K was produced from 1937 to 1939 by Daimler-Benz and was priced at about $11,000 - a King's ransom in those days. The supercharger boosted horsepower to 180 and the car traveled easily at 105 mph. Features rolling chassis detail, detailed engine, complete interior, removable soft top or boot and removable hood.
