UPC North American F-86D Sabre Dog 'Error Box' Issue (ex-Marusan), 1/50, 5051-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

Sold

This is likely the first issue of this UPC kit as it has a rather graphic error - it pictures F-86 Sabrejets on the box - NOT the F-86D 'Dog version. The enclosed kit is the "D" variant from Marusan molds. The Marusan F-86D model is known for it's action features and accessories, and the UPC reissue includes them all. Kit has removable radome to display the radar, opening canopy, removable tail section with dolly and detailed jet engine with engine stand, operating leading edge slats, operating wing flaps, moving control surfaces, retracting landing gear, retracting/extending missile tray, boarding ladder, and extra missiles with missile cart. AMT USS Akron or Macon - ZRS-4 or ZRS-5, 1/520, T572

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Good-

Sold

Still factory sealed but the seal has drawn much of the box concave. This is a very good model of the famous 'aircraft carriers of the sky' and contains parts and decals to build either airship. The Sparrowhawk aircraft hangar door is molded separately if you wish to super detail the hangar bay. The Macon and Akron carried their own complement of F9C Sparrowhawk fighter aircraft, which could take off from a large hook while the airship was in flight. Recovery was accomplished the same way and the aircraft were stored in a hangar inside the ship.

Revell SMS Seeadler (Sea Eagle) German WWI Commerce Raider, 1/232, H382-298

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

Sold

Rare 1960 hardbox first issue with John Steel artwork. Includes original, never used tube of Revell 'S' Cement. This is a kit of a fantastic subject -the famous WWI sailing commerce raider of Count Felix Von Luckner. The SMS Seeadler was a unique WWI raider in that it was not designed to elude the British blockade and break out to sea...it was designed to pass right through the blockade within full view of the British before attacking allied shipping around the world. No detail was overlooked in the Seeadler's preparation, right down to a Norwegian-speaking crew. The plan went perfectly - and the Seeadler passed inspection at the British Blockade. Her non-threatening appearance helped her in an active and colorful raiding career that nearly went around the world. I highly recommend reading any of several books that you can find about this ship. Von Luckner himself became quite a celebrity for his exciting exploits. Very well detailed kit. Full hull kit is molded in gray, brown and black and includes rigging thread and full rigging instructions. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.

Italeri Me-323 D-1 Gigant 6 Engine Transport, 1/72, 104

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Sold

Very large kit of the oversized Luftwaffe transport that was originally designed as a glider for Sealion, the invasion of Great Britain. The glider was to be towed by a He-111Z tug. The glider version proved to be dangerous, so the Luftwaffe installed 6 engines on the aircraft, and produced a giant but vulnerable transport. In this role it was much more successful. Detailed kit has over 340 parts. Cargo doors can be opened or closed. Features interior detail in the cargo bay and cockpit. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.
