AMT 1960 Ford Edsel Ranger 2 Door Hardtop Promo With Original Box, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

Very rare friction-drive promotional with a metal chassis. Especially in this condition and with the original box. The box is stamped "EDSEL FLY DEL WHITE/GREEN." This model was obtained on October 30, 1966 in Lexington KY by a very discriminating adult collector. The model is in amazing condition. The paint has like-new color and gloss, the chrome is all intact, smooth and in 'excellent+' condition and the model has never even been displayed outside the box. There is little to zero body warp and the clear is in 'near mint' condition. I would grade this one 9.5 out of 10 with 10 flawless. The deduction is for almost invisible light box scratches on the roof, a few tiny factory paint flaws, and the chrome is not as bright as some I have seen (which is a factory issue).

Aurora Convair VR XFY-1 Pogo, 1/48, 60-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

Sold

First issue from the early 1950s. Please note the early Aurora rectangular logo, which was used from about 1953 to 1955. Rare large scale model features working counter-rotating props and is molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: box displays as 'near mint+' but is graded lower due to a tape tear on one long side from the factory tape.

Aurora Ryan X-13 Vertijet with Trailer/Launcher, 1/48, 376-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

Dated 1957 and rare. Very nice large-scale model for that time with a fully operational mobile operations trailer. The aircraft is molded in gloss silver and the trailer/launcher in bright yellow. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags (one for silver and one for yellow) and includes decals and instructions in superb 'as new' condition.

ITC Halibut SSGN 587 Cam-A-Matic Submarine - (Electric Powered Diving Motorized Regulus Sub), 1/175, 3660-998

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

From 1960. NOTE: kit is 100% complete but has minor (6 parts), neat assembly so please read carefully. This model is the zenith of the ITC Design and Engineering Team, and maybe of all operational plastic model kits. It is not only rare but is considered the most complicated operating model ever produced. The large 24.75 inch submarine sails from the power of a large electric motor driving twin geared propellers. It changes headings, dives, surfaces, and a Regulus II missile comes out of the hanger and launches...all automatically. The engineering on this kit is fantastic and a major break-through for that time. The model worked, and did work well, but was certainly not a toy for inexperienced model builders. The high price ($9.98) and difficulties that youngsters had with assembly and operation made for a short production run. The fact the ITC left the model business for good shortly after releasing the kit contributed to the scarcity as well. The boxtop displays much better than the 'good' grade; I have graded it 'good' because the box has clear tape on it, split corners, a taped closed tear of 2.5" on one long side and general wear as shown. Molded in the correct white and red, with numerous metal shaft, chain, screws and the correct motor. Inside, the kit is in very good condition but NOTE: it has neat, minor assembly. The main batter cover, battery contact and wire have been assembled. It was adult done to 'professional' quality. On the top inner hull, parts 11, 16 and 14 are installed, to 'excellent+ to professional' quality. A very small 1/2" x 1/4" (1.3 x .6 cm) clear panel is installed on the underside center of the lower hull - the work done is 'excellent++' and it is watertight. There is no other assembly. The kit has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts present and decals (stickers) and instructions. Stickers and instructions are in 'near mint' condition. The factory internal packing cardboard is complete and in 'excellent+' condition as shown. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.

Aurora The Black Knight of Nurnberg, 1/8, 473-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

Sold

Desirable hardbox issue from 1963. The box is in exceptional 'near mint' condition. The only flaw is light corner wear - the box is also free of all tape and price tags as well as tape and tag marks. Classic and very popular Aurora USA knight kit from the original molds. Large 1/8 scale kit is molded gloss black and has the original white plume. The kit has never been started, and is inventoried complete with all parts, plume and excellent instructions. In the mid 1950s, Aurora bought three 'Knight' molds from Crown Plastics and issued them as K1, K2 and K3. These were the very first Aurora figure kits and they sported the 1956-only rectangular 'Northern Lights' logo with the correct 'Crown Line' logo inside it. The sales success of the Knight prompted Aurora to launch an entire line of figure kits. The knights themselves stayed in production long after many other figures were discontinued.
