Russ Westfall. Decals are in mint condition and not used. The model itself is a bagged kit with no box. The box is shown for reference only. Perfect builder. This collector stored this and all of his kits in bags because of limited storage space. He was very precise; the canopy is bagged separate to prevent scratching, the small parts are in a zip lock for protection and then put into a larger sealed bag with the bigger parts and instructions. Decals are excellent. Very high quality kit that builds to a beautiful model. This is the 1983 issue with the wonderful 'The Turtle' nose art. Features full cockpit with sliding canopy, instrument panel, detailed pilot, seat, stick, gun sight, headrest and wheel wells. Includes two wing mounted 500 lb bombs and drop tank. Molded in silver and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Box is dated 1956 but this is the 1957-1959 issue with the sunburst logo and 'Famous Fighters'. The box originally had a 69 cent price extension, but the factory overstamped it and added the 79 cent extension.

1963 issue and still the only injection molded Apache kit. From ex-Comet molds. Features all recessed panel lines, clear windows, rotating propellers and color decals. Never started. NOTE: missing prop retainers (not seen and easily made) and stand. Inventoried with all other parts and excellent decals & instructions present. Aurora had started a line of inexpensive 29 cent kits in about 1957. The line was a success, and it was expanded. The line grew again when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, as most of Comet's line was very small scale kits, many of them civil aircraft like this one. It appears that Aurora was encouraged by the sale of the ex-Comet civil aircraft, as it expanded the line with it's own molds in the early 1960s.

Also includes all needed parts for the Merlin engine conversion. NOTE: a professional vacuform modeler has cut out most large parts. The fuselage and wings have been final sanded and have a flawless fit. The wheels, stabilizer have been professionally built. NOTE: the kit is missing the ADF loop and engine fronts but there is a resin ADF loop and four scale resin engines included. NOTE: plans are photocopies.
