Rare kit from the late 1940s or early 1950s. Does not come with a box but is complete. Very large 53.5 inch wingspan model was designed for free-flight rubber power but is perfectly suited for conversion to R/C and electric power. Comes with a very nicely rough-carved prop than needs final sanding only, finished hardwood wheels and thrust button, profile cut wooden cowl/nose, prefabricated wheel pants and struts, four very thick cardstock sheets of printed parts, high quality strip wood, metal stock, tissue paper and excellent condition full size plans. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and plans.

Very rare. From ex-Best molds. Aurora purchased the Best molds for the Indianapolis 500 Winners and made one issue in 1958. Kit is molded in gloss white with real rubber tires, spoked wheels and includes a crew of two and some interior detail. This kit has never been started. It is either still in the internally sealed factory bag or has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The 'Murphy Special', winner of the Indy 500 in 1922, was a Duesenburg chassis and a Harry Miller engine of 183 CID. It was driven by the great racer Jimmy Murphy.

This is a Cleveland 'SF' or 'Scale Flying' model in museum scale of 1/16. The kit came from a long time collector of 1930s and 1940s models and is in exceptional condition. All Cleveland kits were exceptionally complete and this one is no exception. Features very high quality balsa printwood and strip wood, covering material, highest quality plans, all parts required for assembly and decals (if issued with the kit). The model has not been started. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. The Cleveland Model and Supply Company played a pivotal role in the development of true scale models. In 1909 Bleriot’s English Channel flight caused a surge in aviation and model aircraft around the globe. Several companies were ideally positioned to take advantage of the aviation craze. In the USA, Wading River Manufacturing Co. (1909), White Aeroplane (1911), Ideal Model Aeroplane (1911), Broadfield Model Aeroplanes (1919) were among these pioneers, offering everything from plans and parts to complete kits and ARF models. Lindbergh’s 1927 crossing of the Atlantic Ocean caused an even bigger world-wide phenomenon called “The Aviation Craze” that extended up to the start of World War II. Many companies such as Megow, Guillow's and others started right around the time of Lindbergh’s flight. Some of these models flew and flew well, but they all had one thing in common - were generally not accurate scale representations. In 1929, a youngster named Ed Packard had a very advanced dream – to produce incredibly accurate, true scale models that flew perfectly. This radical idea established the world’s longest running single-owner (77 years) model airplane supply business – Cleveland Model and Supply Company. To this day, Cleveland models are treasured as the most accurate flying scale models produced. The fact that Mr. Packard started and successfully grew this business during The Great Depression is a testament to his ideals and business skill. I highly suggest the excellent book called ‘Aviation’s great Recruiter – Cleveland’s Ed Packard’ by H.L. (Herm) Schreiner. It is an excellent history of the man, his company and the times of the Golden Age of Model Aviation.

Features almost flawless moldings, a very high level of detail (even includes the float plane), exploded parts diagram, scale drawings of the completed kit and color flags. The Java in service in the Netherlands Indies and sunk in 1942 at the Battle of the Java Sea. Japanese use of the 'Long Lance' torpedoes were responsible for sinking her and the newer De Ruyter.

Hard-to-find reissue from 2000. This kit uses the original molds from this 1964 kit. The Starbird-designed Predicta was the crowd's favorite, traveling over 50,000 miles coast-to-coast and winning many car shows, including the famous Oakland Roadster Show. She was the first in the custom field to have an electrically operated full Lucite Bubble Top and 'Unistick' steering where the wheels are turned by a centrally-located aircraft style control stick. Power was provided by a 392 CID '57 Chrysler Fuel Injection engine. The kit features operating 'Unistick' steering, working bubble top, opening hood, detailed engine, deep dish chrome plated wheels and highly detailed interior. The kit is molded in red, white and clear with chrome parts and real rubber wheels. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Features pre-formed billowing sails, preformed ratlines, chain and cord for running and standing rigging, 20 crew members, detailed armament, operating propeller hoist and detailed deck fittings. Also includes complete step by step assembly instructions and full rigging instructions/diagrams. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. The parts that were not factory sealed (the hull halves and vacuform sails) have been inventoried complete including decals and instructions. The vac sails are in 'very good' condition. NOTE: there is minor bug damage to the rat line cutting pattern and historical booklet.
