Scale Flight Model Company in Bloomington, Indiana, USA was dedicated to releasing authentic reproductions of the finest "Dime Scale" flying model (stick and tissue) kits from the 1930s/40s. Dime Scale models used to sell for a dime in the 1930's, hence the name. They are actually box scale, but as a general guideline, they usually had a wingspan of 16 inches and have simple and light construction. "Dime Scale" models are now a class flown in some competitions. Kit consists of contest grade printwood, contest quality strip wood, machine cut balsa propeller, the best Japanese tissue, wooden wheels, competition bushed nose plug, brass thrust washers, prop shaft, prop freewheeler, FAI rubber strip motor and a copy of a genuine dime scale plan that was used in the 1930s-1940s. The model has not been started. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions.

Very high quality vacuform kit with moldings equal to or better than many injection molded models. Features very fine detail, complete cockpit, clear canopy, markings and painting guide and instructions/plans. NOTE: a professional vacuform builder has cut the parts out very neatly. A great many of them have been sanded and fit professionally but only 1/2 the cockpit and a drop tank have been built. Those who build vacuforms know that this is hours of work and represents a significant time savings when done right, which it is. Inventoried with all parts and instructions present. Significant modeling skill is required to build vacuform kit. Not recommended for beginners.

Still factory sealed. From 1991. Very nice model from original Pyro molds. Includes a one-piece hull, all deck fittings, electronic speed control, special motor, brass prop shaft, nylon prop, rudder control rod and linkage and full building and operating instructions. The radio receiver and transmitter is not included; the builder must provide that. The hull measures 14 inches long and is plenty wide for radio equipment and batteries. Since Pyro originally designed this kit for water operation with their optional marine motor pack, this is a nice small cruiser for RC.

First issue of this legendary kit. 1968 model includes realistic 'Jet Sound' and all internal packing material with yellow overlay and cellophane. The internal cardboard 'presentation' insert is mint and includes the original Monoglue. The box is exceptional and is straight, square and in near mint condition with perfect color and gloss. No stains, tears or tape on the box top. Please note the yellow sticker at the top right. Contains 207 parts. Very nicely detailed. Features crew of three, detailed cockpit, elevating and traversing rear turret, opening and closing bomb bay doors, operating wing flaps, operating spoilers, optional position entry hatch and landing gear, and optional parts to display one nacelle open to show the jet engine. 1974 reissue of using the original 1963 molds for Aurora's 'Super Detailed Museum Model Done in a big 1/16 scale, this kit and the other 'American Classics (in 1963 they were the 'Old Timers') in the series represented a significant leap forward in quality for Aurora. The kit features full engine, transaxle and drive-line detail. It builds up a rolling chassis like the real car, and includes full exhaust and a detailed interior. Aurora was renowned for turning a profit and for keeping expenses down. In researching new kit subjects, they came upon a forgotten jewel - the Hudson Miniatures line of 1/16 scale wooden kits. Hudson had discontinued this line due to lack of sales of wooden kits. But the Hudson models were second to none in quality, research and documentation. Aurora was quick to realize this and used the research and layout from these kits to create the subjects for this 'Old Timers' series. It is fortunate for us that they did, because in most cases this is the only injection molded kit of these rare and classic early automobiles. With 105 parts molded in green and ivory, brass plate, clear and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. The parts that were not factory sealed have been inventoried complete including instructions.

Large scale (1/125) 1976 issue that is well detailed and measures over 20 inches long when assembled. U-99 was one of the most active and successful early boats under the command of Otto Kretschmer. She survived 7 active patrols but was sunk on the 8th patrol on March 17, 1941. 40 of the crew survived the sinking, including Kretschmer, who accounted for the greatest tonnage of shipping sunk by any commander in WWII.
