Still factory sealed and a very rare kit from the late 1950s that has fantastic Ray Gaedke artwork of a beach landing scene. For some reason this kit almost never shows up and was issued only once or twice. Why is did not stay in the lineup is a mystery; perhaps the molds were damaged beyond repair. The model is large scale and well detailed for that time. The Cellovision box is in 'excellent' condition which is most unusual. These are thin and frail boxes which are easily damaged. This one has like-new color and gloss, no crushing or creasing, an intact plastic window still securely glued into place and all short end flaps in place and factory glued shut. The trading card on the back is in very good condition as well. Flaws include light age spotting, light general wear and a very small 1/2" x 3/8" litho tear on the back near the right short side.

Late 1950s kit with fantastic Ray Gaedke box artwork. This unusual kit of the modified angled deck Essex class includes a motor and is designed for operation in water. Measures 12 inches long when assembled and features below waterline detail with the correct four propeller and rudder arrangement (in case you want to build it as a static model), airwing of nicely detailed F4D Skyray, F8 Crusader jet aircraft and more. The ship has never been started but NOTE: the motor armature has the two end caps and metal laminations installed. There is no more assembly. Inventoried and NOTE: Missing one, part, the helicopter. Otherwise complete including all other parts, decals and instructions.

1950s issue with early classic box art by Ray Gaedke. Nice kit with detailed engine, removable cowling, full cockpit, two pilots, ground crewman and aircraft tail dolly. Molded in a beautiful gloss yellow and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried and NOTE: missing one tiny part, (1) of (4) kingposts, which can be easily made with pulled sprue. Still factory sealed. From quality Pyro molds. Measures 13.5 inches long when assembled and very nicely detailed for that time. Could be motorized and made R/C (as some other releases were, but you must supply the hardware for this issue). Despatch No.9 was built by the Tampa Marine Corporation in Florida in 1945 for the fleet of tugs operated by Standard Oil of California in Sacramento Bay and the San Joaquin River.

Rare 1950s hardbox first issue in excellent condition. Features superb Ray Gaedke artwork. Box has like-new color and gloss, four solid, original corners, no tape or tape marks and no creases. The flaws are edge wear as shown, general light wear and a very small 15 x 11 millimeter price tag litho tear on one end panel. Kit includes external bomb load and centerline fuel tank, pilot with seat and display stand. Molded in dark gloss blue and clear and has Fleet Air Arm decals. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The box displays better than 'excellent' but is graded as such because there are two small tape pulls; one on each of the short sides.

Includes the Lindberg trading card on the back. Small scale model measures about 7.25 inches long and includes full decals including fuselage side stripes. Please note that while it is factory sealed, the box is only rated 'good' due to dings, wrinkling and creases.

Very rare. This is a factory sealed 1950s Cellovision issue. The clear window on the back is intact and the trading card is in 'Near Mint+' condition. Amazingly, the box is in 'very good++' condition. These Cellovision boxes were very thin and prone to damage; this one lived a charmed life. This is a large scale (1/48) 'theoretical' Mig-19. It was removed from production well before it's time because it soon became obvious that this aircraft never existed in this configuration. However, Aurora made one almost just like it; so it is believed that they both used the same faulty magazine drawing as the basis for both models. Includes a very well detailed tow tractor with driver. The aircraft is molded in silver and the tractor in yellow.

From the mid 1950s with wonderful Ray Gaedke box art. Rare first issue that featuring the circular Lindberg logo and short, early two-piece box. Correctly molded in brilliant metallic blue with a red nose and clear canopy. Correct early decals and instructions. Please note, the instructions have the circle logo and the rectangular logo, which was not uncommon for early Lindberg kits. This kit has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Paul Lindberg created plans for stick and tissue flying models that were published in popular modeling magazines in the 1930s. During this time, he marketed wooden flying kits, asking builders to request that your local dealer carry "The Lindberg Line" of models. When plastic kits first appeared, Paul Lindberg and a Mr. Olsen founded O-Lin models, purchased the unsuccessful Varney molds for the Fleet Sub, PT Boat, LST and PT-17. After mold modification, they entered production and quickly cut new molds such as the P-80, Seabee and more. The association with Mr. Olsen did not last long, and Paul Lindberg took over or bought out the molds, thus starting the famous plastic "Lindberg Line". The first box art was simply carry over from O-Lin. Early O-Lin artwork was simple and two -color. However, Ray Gaedke did some late O-Lin boxes such as the Corsair, which was also used by Lindberg. Gaedke artwork was colorful and bold, and Paul Lindberg wasted no time in having Gaedke make the new artwork for the Lindberg Line.

1950s issue. The hardbox is in exceptional investment-grade "near mint" condition with fantastic color and gloss, four solid corners, no fading and no tears. Very slight wear (mainly on the corners) is the only flaw. Molded in the correct silver and clear with the early O-lin style teardrop-based stand. The kit has not been started and is complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Paul Lindberg got his start in 1930s model aviation by designing, building and flying stick and tissue aircraft. His plans appeared in Popular Aviation magazine and he soon made a name for himself. When injection molding showed the way to increased kit sales in the late 1940s/early 1950s, he quickly teamed up with Mr. Olsen to create 'O-lin' models. Ray Gaedke was one the the early artists for O-lin, and he help pioneer dramatic and colorful box artwork. In the early 1950s Paul Lindberg was running the company and had the logo changed to his name. The first logo was circular, with 'Lindberg' in middle and 'Products' 'Incorporated' arched across the top and bottom. The second logo is the 'Yellow Rectangle' that is on this kit. Ray Gadke continued his bold and colorful artwork for Lindberg and did this F-80C boxart as well.

Rare 1950s hardbox issue with dramatic Ray Gaedke artwork. This is a well detailed larger scale kit that features an electric motor and hardware for water operation, one-piece hull, detailed deck and superstructure & more. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The box has superb color and gloss. It would rate higher than 'excellent' but is rated as such because there is one closed split on one corner at the lower left. This model has a fascinating history. It was originally produced by Varney in 1944. It was novel at the time as it had a wooden hull, cardstock deck but the deck fittings, superstructure and other details were injection molded tenite. When the early Varney aircraft and ship kits did not sell well, Gorden Varney sold the molds for the kit to O-lin (Olsen and Lindberg). O-Lin reworked the kit using a vacuform hull, cardstock deck, metal railings and tenite parts. When Lindberg took full control of O-lin, he modified the molds for a third time so the kit has metal railings but all other parts are injection molded. In the fourth and final modification (this kit), all parts are injection molded plastic.

Early hardbox issue from the late 1950s with colorful Ray Gaedke hardbox artwork. The box is in amazing investment grade 'near mint' condition with like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs, fading, creases or stains. Light general wear and tape marks on the two longs sides are the only flaw. This is the second issue of this kit for the USA, with added fine rivet detail and molded in silver and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts decals and instructions. This kit started as a basic 1/48 scale model with full landing gear, rockets and bombs. Surface detail was minimal Lindberg modified it in the mid 1950s with fine raised panel lines and tasteful rivet detail. In the late 1950s, they modified it again to a motorized version with the batteries in the stand and a kit electric motor in the nose.
