Aurora Martin B-26 Marauder, 1/46, 371-259

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

$395

Very rare first issue from the early 1950s. When Aurora moved to the West Hempstead plant, they planned a series of very large scale bombers. All kits released up to this time had been small. Aurora's instincts were correct, and the B-26, B-25 and B-29 were a big sales success. This box art was done by Jim Cox and was only used for about one year, making it very rare. The kit has never been started and is inventoried 100% complete with the original tissue paper, all parts, large clear stand, instructions and decals.

Pit Road IJN Akagi With Three Flying Decks (Pre-1935), 1/700, HM-020

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

$69

Still factory sealed. Rare, very high quality waterline kit of the Akagi in the three-deck configuration. Features superbly cast resin hull and deck sections, three large trees of injection molded details, numerous cast metal details and precision cast metal biplane torpedo bombers and biplane fighters. There are extensive decals for the air wing and the ship. The initial idea for Akagi was to make three decks to speed up the take-off and landing of aircraft. It worked initially, but by 1935 the lower two decks were not long enough for the heavier aircraft. At that point Akagi was reconstructed to a single deck configuration.

She was rebuilt and saw significant action in the Pacific in WWII, steaming over 150,000 miles from 1941 to 1945. Monogram B-24 Liberator Speedee-Bilt - Five Star Super Deluxe Kit, 1/60, H4-495

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$625

Dated 1954. Rare, desirable and very collectible. Classic early multi-media kit with a fantastic internal box presentation. The box top has excellent color and gloss but general wear as shown, two properly repaired (from the inside) split corners and a closed tear (also repaired) on the lower side. Inside, the kit is factory new. All of the factory cardboard presentation material is present and grades from 'mint' to 'excellent++.' Includes numerous plastic parts in red, gray, clear and black, four unopened glass bottle of Mono*Dope that are still good, an unopened tube of MonoGlue still in the original mint box, all prefabricated wooden parts including the amazing Monofoil wing, three sheets of die-cut and factory painted wood (unpunched), colored die-cut cardstock sheet, sandpaper, gun barrel plastic material, decals in amazing 'near mint' condition, 'near mint' instruction book and full size plans and even a miniature Monogram Catalog showing this kit and the entire Speedee-Bilt line for '54. The kit has never been started. It has been carefully inventoried 100% complete with all parts, paperwork, instructions, plans and decals. Amazingly, the celluloid plastic parts range from no warping to very slight warping (on two of the nacelles). This is very rare, as that type of plastic was unstable and warped easily over time. Before injection molded plastic kits were common, Monogram issued the famous 'Speedee-Bilt' and 'Super Kits' which featured injection molded details and precarved wooden parts. Of these, the Speedee-Bilt B-24 and B-17 were the finest. These kits are very rare today due to their relatively high original price of $4.95. This kit must be shipped insured.

The electric motor (in the display base with the batteries) turns main and tail rotors. Sound unit makes "chop-chop" sound that varies correctly with main rotor speed. To minimize painting, the kit is molded in clear, zinc chromate green, black, chrome plate, gray, olive drab and flexible black/gray ammo belts. The clear fuselage halves have no breaks or cracks, they are mint. The kit has never been started. All parts have been inventoried 100% complete including motor, hardware, wire, decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the decals have some minor bug damage to the backing paper; the actual transfers have no damaged. The inner red display packing tray is not present. There is neat, adult yellow 'highlighting' done in several places on the instructions. These boxes were thin, fragile and easily damaged. This one is no exception- it is 100% complete, but has one closed split corner, one edge closed split and moderate general surface wear as shown. The other three corners are solid and there is no fading or missing litho. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.
