Dated 1958. Very rare ICBM and the first and only issue of this Revell 'S' kit representing the Atlas in ICBM configuration. The molds were altered to make the Mercury Atlas kit, so reissues are impossible. Very highly detailed. Molded in correct white, gray and bright yellow. Features elevating missile support arms and hinged break-away supports, complete launching base, ramp and pad, missile truck and trailer that elevates 90 degrees to load missile and crew. Estes took one of the most popular rocket kits of all time - the Astron Interceptor - and almost doubled the size to 39 inches (99 cm) tall. Very faithful to the original classic, this one has injection molded nose cone, wing tip pods, rocket nozzle, etc as the original and has several huge decal sheets. Other parts are cardstock and cardboard body tubes with plastic parachute. Never opened, still factory sealed.

'Stealth' was on everyone's lips in those years and several model companies took a stab at what the plane might look like. Monogram's kit was quite off the mark and was quickly discontinued when the real aircraft was shown to the public.
