From the mid 1960s. Beautiful kit of this early subject. Excellent detail and finely molded. Wings and control surfaces have realistic fabric texture. Full cockpit and engine with gasoline/oil tanks. Lindberg F-86D Sabre Jet Fighter - with First Logo, 1/48, 522-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Sold

Very rare first Lindberg issue with the 'script' logo. From the 1950s with dramatic Ray Gaedke artwork. Molded in high gloss silver and clear. Includes script logo decals and box logo instructions which was not unusual. The box was originally numbered 522-79 and has been over-stamped with a factory '98' for the price. Lindberg always used up any old stock and never seemed to waste any boxes, parts, decals or instructions. Paul Lindberg's consistent year-to-year bottom line profits are testimony to this. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Lindberg is a company with a fascinating history The original 'Lindberg Line' stretches back to the 1930s when Paul Lindberg drew plans for famous modeling magazines and marketed his balsa wood 'stick and tissue' by urging dealers to carry the '...Complete Lindberg Line'. After the war, Lindberg and Olsen had a strong hand in early United States injection molded kit development. Please see the article located on this website about early USA plastic kit manufacturers.

AMT 1949 Ford Custom Club Coupe - Stock or Custom - Bagged, 1/25, 6805

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Bagged

Sold

This came from the estate of a very particular builder/collector who kept the clear and chrome parts in separate bags, keeping them in 'as new' condition. Very nice kit. Features choice of engines - stock Ford Flathead V-8 or Cadillac V-8 with 3x2 or blown and fule injection. There is an engine stand for the engine that you do not put in the car. The hood opens and the engine compartment has good detail as well. Nicely molded chassis with separately molded front and rear suspension, control arms, rear shocks, dual or single exhaust and optional traction bars. Has a full stock interior or custom version with bucket seats, floor shifter, fire extinguisher, moon fuel tank, aux. gauges and custom wheel. There is a choice of stock or racing tires and various custom exterior treatments - optional grills, hood scoops, roof scoop, nerf bars, antennas, spotlights, fender skirts, tail lights and more. Molded in light gray, chrome, clear and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Blue Rider Junkers J-2 - Bagged, 1/72

Vacuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: Bagged

Sold

Possibly the only model ever made of this landmark aircraft. Features excellent vacuform moldings of higher quality than many injection molded kits. Includes cast metal details, extruded airfoil strut material, decals and full cockpit. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The J-2 was aerodynamically the cleanest and elegant aircraft every produced at the time of the first flight in July 196. Only 6 were built and only two in the configuration of this kit. Unfortunately, too much emphasis was put on aerodynamic cleanliness and the aircraft was over-weight. The direct descendants of this aircraft are the Junkers D-1, Ju-52 transport and Ju-87 dive bomber.

VLE Models Fokker T-2 Army Non-Stop Coast To Coast Flight - Bagged, 1/72

Vacuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: Bagged

Sold

Very accurate and high quality model of the very first aircraft to fly nonstop across North America. The flight was sponsored by the US Army and took off on May 2, 1923 and landed 26 hours and 50 minutes later. I highly recommend reading a history of this flight, the previous attempt and preparations. It is a credit to the Army Air Service, the pilots and the design of the aircraft. Kit features very fine moldings, metal and resin details, and full color decals for the Coast to Coast Aircraft. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Vacuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed

This was Vought's last production biplane and it was loved by crews. They were taken out of fleet service in 1941 but served in various rolls before being scrapped during mid-WWII. Esoteric was known for making perhaps the finest vacuform kits. Every part needed to complete the kit is included - down to the interior.
