Crafthouse issue of this very large (1/16 scale) and classic kit. Probably from the 1980s. Measures 2.5 feet long when assembled. Very highly detailed model can build to a wonderful mantle piece. Includes 0ver 250 parts - coach with full interior, full suspension, luggage rack, horses, harnesses, whip, metal chain, luggage trunks and 6 figures. The figures are beautifully molded and detailed. This kit has never been started. The parts are all still sealed in the factory bags with exception of the four horses which are complete but were never sealed. Includes decals and instructions.

Early hardbox issue from the mid 1950s with fantastic Ray Gaedke artwork. Very large and nicely detailed kit for that time that includes an electric motor, battery holder, contacts and three-prop drive for water operation with adjustable rudders. Molded in gloss gray plastic with metal stanchions and metal hand rail still sealed in the original 'krinkle' plastic bag. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals, flag sheet and instructions. This kit has a fascinating history. It was originally produced by Varney in 1944 as a multi-media model. It was novel at the time as it had a wooden hull and cardstock deck but all injection molded tenite deck parts and details. That made it one of the first US ship kits to have extensive injection molded parts. But the world was not ready for this type of kit and dealers were hesitant to carry it - which resulted in low sales. Gorden Varney sold the molds for the kit to O-lin (Olsen and Lindberg). O-Lin reworked the kit using a vacuform hull, cardstock and tenite parts. When Lindberg took full control of O-lin, he went to an injection molded hull, colorful cardstock 'wood' deck and all polystyrene parts for the first Lindberg issue. The second issue was all plastic with the metal stanchions and hand rails but the round Lindberg logo. The third Lindberg issue (this kit) has the square logo and is motorized.

Still the best large-scale Clermont kit available. Well molded and well detailed. Features full provision for motor power (designed to operate in water), working linkage for realistic paddle-wheel action, detailed deck fittings and superstructure, crew and passengers and display stand. NOTE: the kit has not been started but is missing (1) bitt and one flat clear window. Complete with all other parts and instructions. Please note this kit is not motorized. Only the much earlier issue is motorized. However, all parts but the motor and brass battery contacts are included and the instructions show hot it is done; any properly sized electric motor will do and the battery contacts can be made from sheet brass.

NOTE: builder kit only, please read carefully. Before plastic kits were introduced, Strombecker was famous as the premier hardwood preshaped model manufacturer. In the 1940s and 1950s, Strombecker kits were flawlessly engineered but not inexpensive. All wooden parts are hardwood and are precarved to shape - usually only a quick sanding would finish them. This kit is hardwood with many plastic injection molded parts, so it was produced in the transition from wood to plastic. The P-61 is one of the rarest of the WWII Strombeckers. The model includes plastic detail parts, decals, glue and wood filler. The carving is done to the final shape - which makes for some impressive parts for a Black Widow. When complete it makes an impressive desk top display model with an 11 inch wingspan. Never started. NOTE: missing top turret, gun barrels, wire gear struts, nose wheel and pins for attaching the props. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts, excellent decals and instructions present.

1960s issue in excellent condition. The D-VII and several other aircraft were originally designed for a gas motor U-Control, but Aurora decided to discontinue gas powered models after a short release time. The reason for this is unknown, but it may have been related to liability or return volume. In order to further utilize the expensive molds, Aurora released the entire line as static 'Giant Size Models' with screwdriver assembly - known today as 'Aurora Screwdriver Kits.' This is that version. Very large kit molded in bright gloss red, black and with many metal parts. The kit has never been started.
