Keeping the wings and landing gear from the proven F-86 Day Fighter, they made a longer and deeper fuselage with a large radome and J47 engine. Guns were replaced with 24 2.75" folding fin rockets. Although more than a ton heavier than the F-86, the Dog was the fasted aircraft of it's day and set several world records. 2,504 were built and formed the backbone of America's air defense system in the 1950s. Markings for 498th FIS and 97th FIS "Dennis the Menace". Very highly detailed. Features all recessed panel lines, detailed cockpit, detailed wheel wells, optional position leading edge slats and wing flaps, drop tanks, optional position speed brakes, canopy and rocket tray and a highly detailed tow tractor.
