One of the nice things about this model is that it works very nicely. The kit has never been started. 1973 issue. Large 1/32 scale kit measures 17 inches long when assembled. Contains decals for both RAF and US Marines version. Features detailed rotating side jet nozzles, detailed engine, removable engine inspection panel, optional position landing gear, optional position speed brake, full cockpit with pilot, underwing loadout of rocket pods and drop tanks, opening canopy and movable wheels. The model has not been started. Some parts are still in the factory sealed bags; the parts that are not sealed have been inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Please NOTE that one British wing decal has lifted from the sheet. You should be prepared to supply your own decals; the others look 'very good' but you can never tell.

1978 issue after Monogram bought Aurora's molds. Monogram only reissued the best and most commercially viable models. The Jumbo fell into that category but only after Monogram modified it for accuracy. The result is one of the better early 747-100 kits kit in near 1/144 scale. First, Monogram did a massive fix on the fuselage where the wing mates to it. This may have resulted in a completely new mold for the fuselage! They made the fuselage smooth - no windows. Next were added very, very fine raised panel lines to all surfaces, some recessed panel lines (like leading edge slats) and also added flap hinge covers (fairings) to the lower wings. Contains greatly improved, full, excellent Pan Am and window decals. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

She was powered with a 3000 hp supercharged Rolls Royce engine and won the Championship in 1977. Her 'rooster tail' alone was 7 tons of airborne water!

Rare large flying model in the 'Coca-Cola' bottle box. These aircraft were common in the 1930s when the sport of free-flight model airplanes reached it's zenith. It was not uncommon for these models to fly for 45 minutes or more on rubber power alone - many flew out of sight, and it became common practice to write your name, address and phone number on the covering tissue. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction, detailed full size plans, building instructions, hardware, wheels and canopy material (if required), tissue and propeller. The model has not been started. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions.

This came from the estate of a very particular builder/collector who kept the clear and chrome parts in separate bags, keeping them in 'as new' condition. Excellent kit with very good detail. Includes parts to build one of three versions. Stock version features detailed Mercury V-8 engine and engine compartment, full interior, opening hood and trunk, very good underside and suspension detail with separately molded front and rear suspension, fuel tank, rear shocks, drive shaft, exhaust, tie rods, steering gear and spindles.
