Monogram Mercury and Gemini Capsules - Gus Grissom Memorial Combo with Collectors Patches, 1/48, 85-4166

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Good

Still factory sealed but has damage as shown. 1999 reissue of the 1964 Revell kit with a Monogram box. Very nicely detailed 1/48 scale kit that contains both models and display stands as well as collector's patches. This kit is a fine example of 'mold swapping'. Originally Revell cut the molds and issued this kit in the 1960s. Then Revell and Monogram merged, and the kit was reissued under the Monogram name.

Pegaso Convair 440 AeroMaya Airlines With Cardstock Airport Diorama, 1/126, P405

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Good

Still factory sealed but the seal has split. Rare civil 440 with unique markings. I believe this is from the original Lindberg molds but I cannot confirm it since the kit is still factory sealed. Please note that the box says "1/48" scale, but it is clearly no where near that size.

Tamiya Toyota Celica, 1/24, 24215-1800

Aurora Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina, 1/74, 374-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

1962 issue with colorful pre-war high-visibility paint in the artwork. Please note that this is the first issue of this box art because of the 'Famous Fighters' in the border of the Aurora logo. Box is in 'very good++' condition with nice color and gloss, four solid corners and no sign of price tags or tape. There is light general wear as shown. Kit features retracting pontoons and rotating props. This version has the desirable large clear two-piece 'World' triangle-base stand. Molded in gloss silver and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Hawk Supermarine Swift, 1/72, 607-60

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed VG++

Still factory sealed but the seal has split. Very cleanly molded kit that builds very nicely. The model has excellent fit and recessed and raised panel lines. Can be assembled with or without landing gear. The Swift was a very early jet fighter to replace the Supermarine Attacker. A very capable aircraft, the Swift suffered numerous accidents early on. As a result, less than 200 were ever built and it did not see combat. It did hold a world speed record for a short time, only to have a Douglas Skyray take the record a few hours later. The problems were ironed out, but by then the Hawker Hunter was proving very capable and there was no need for the Swift and it's RAF service life was short. The most successful version was the PR variant.

Aurora USS Skipjack Submarine Phota-Scope Issue, 1/228, 614-180

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Rare. 1970 issue featuring the Phota-Scope. In place of the nuclear reactor, Aurora put a tube that has a magnifying lens at the top and a film transparency of a submarine interior at the bottom. So when you lift the hatch, you looked through the magnifier to see the inside of the sub. It was an interesting idea, and Aurora extended Phota-scope to some tank kits around the same time. The kit has never been started. Inventoried with all parts, magnifying lens and tube, phota-scope picture, decals and correct instructions present. The box looks much better than the 'good' rating but is graded as such because there is a closed tear in the box top at the sail of the sub.

MPC 1975 Chevrolet Vega Promo, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Amazing condition, true dealer promotional model with the original box. One owner and obtained new from a Lexington, KY dealership in 1975 by a discriminating collector. It is still wrapped in the original tissue paper and is in factory-new condition. It was never used, displayed or played with and the tires reflect that. Color and gloss are like new, as is the chrome, clear and tires. Complete with all parts. Although I can't imagine how it could be better, I'll grade it 9.8 out of 10 as I hesitate to call anything perfect. The box is 'very good' and is stamped "75 VEGA MEDIUM RED" on the end flap. There are no MPC markings, but I have listed it as that manufacturer as a guess since they marketed this car as an assembly it in this scale.
