1962 hardbox 'Master Modeler' issue. This is the famous ship of Project Hope, which was financed by private citizens and US Industry. The Hope and crew toured the world, treating disease and training doctors in the latest developments in medical science. The kit has never been started. Inside, it is factory new. NOTE: builder or parts kit only, please read carefully. Rare, Brooklyn-produced early 1950s U-Ma-Kit. This was Aurora's first naval model. Molded in the correct glossy very dark gray plastic. The kit has never been started. NOTE: missing parts. Both bow dive planes and one prop are missing. NOTE: decals have been cut out and are missing (2) eyeballs and one shark's mouth. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts, decals (separated) and instructions. NOTE: instructions are present but completely split in two down one fold seam. The box looks better than the 'poor' rating but is graded as such because there is extensive clear tape holding the top together, stains and missing litho as shown at the bottom and on the bottom long side. The tray (lower box) is present but split along most seams.

Incredibly rare, 1950s NOS Topping F9F-8T Two-Seat Trainer model untouched in the original factory box. Inside, all of the factory cardboard and tissue are still intact. The stand and aircraft were never displayed or used. The gloss and shine on both are fantastic. There are no cracks, no breaks and no repairs. Decals and factory paint is are 'excellent++' to 'near mint.' While never used, please note that these models never left the factory in 'flawless' condition. There were always minor paint flaws and minor molding flaws as they were mass-produced. This example has a perfectly clear canopy with no yellowing and the decal yellowing is minimal; although there is a tiny bit of flaking on the black wing walks as shown. Because the original Topping box adds significantly to the value, it will be carefully packed into another box for shipping. Shipping insurance is required.

1957 hardbox issue of this small scale kit with dramatic Jo Kotula box artwork. Please note that this is an earlier issue with 'Famous Fighters' in the oval border of the Aurora logo and is has the '.29' on the lower right. Nicely molded with a clear canopy, full landing gear and display stand. This is a model of the very early YF-102 prototype with the straight (non-area rule) fuselage. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Around this time, Aurora issued a series of inexpensive (usually 29 cent) small scale kits that were designed to sell at almost any type of retail location. The line was successful and further expanded - when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, they fit in nicely with this established line.
