The prototype for High Lonesome Mine is based primarily on the dilapidated ruins of a mine found high above the tree line in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The mine dates back to the first decades of the 1900s and little remains; so photos also played a critical part.

From 1991. Very nice model from original Pyro molds. Includes a one-piece hull, all deck fittings and more. Never started. The Tugboat parts are still in the factory sealed bags and includes instructions but NOTE: missing all of the drive gear and motor. NOTE: Treat this as a static model only. Since Pyro originally designed this kit for water operation with their optional marine motor pack, this is a nice small cruiser for RC but you will need to provide all the parts for the conversion.

I believe this was one year only, as the box is dated 1963 and by 1964 the 'Famous Fighters' was eliminated from most Aurora kits. Hard to find 1/48 scale armor kit with John Steel box art.
