Hardbox is dated 1961. Rare kit of the Arizona's sister ship. Full-hull model that is very nicely molded and detailed for that time. It can be superbly super-detailed with the Gold Medal Model PE detail set. The kit has never been started. Inventoried complete with all parts present including decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the instructions have light bug damage and the decals have bug damage to the backing paper, but the the actual transfers have no damage. Also, part #19 had a chip out of it, so I included another #19 in mint condition from a later issue. The Pennsylvania was in dry-dock during the December 7th Pearl Harbor attack and survived with minimal damage. She was rebuilt and saw significant action in the Pacific in WWII, steaming over 150,000 miles from 1941 to 1945. It is thought that she may have fired more ammunition than any ship in history. She never once reported 'Not Ready' for any operation or need. After being used as a nuclear test ship at Bikini, she was towed to Kwajalein and sunk.

Still factory sealed but the seal has drawn the box top slightly concave. 1983 issue of this classic large-scale 'Action Model' from the original 'Four Star' Monogram line. Canopy opens and closes to show highly detailed cockpit. Tiny levers under the wings drop 2 bombs. Knob on the bottom rotates and extends/retracts main gear and tail wheel; all gear doors including the tail wheel open and close automatically with the gear. Not only do these features sound great, but they work. My built kit is 30 years old and still functions like new. Very nicely detailed. Molded in silver, black and clear.

But on these kits he cut the sprue (trees) with the part numbers still attached to each number, so the parts are loose. Because of that, I have not inventoried these kits. NOTE: he built minor sub assemblies (cockpit tubs, wing halves, etc) to "professional" quality. He also almost always removed the displays stands (if provided). Third or fourth issue. Note the four digit part number, Mattel logo and "Blue Box" dated 1967. This airplane is a civil F3F that was flown for Gulf Oil by the famous stunt pilot Al Williams. The kit has several action features: When you pull the prop outward and rotate it CCW, the landing gear retracts. Pull it outward and rotate it CW, and the gear extends. Push the prop in, and it freewheels as normal. Kit features a movable control surfaces, highly detailed cockpit, full decals including striping, sliding canopy, bracing material and instructions for rigging, and is molded in clear, orange and gray. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.
