After the war, Lindberg and Olsen had a strong hand in early United States injection molded kit development. Please see the article located on this website about early USA plastic kit manufacturers.

Glencoe Oeffag Albatros D-III - Austro-Hungary Decals for 3 Aces - (DIII), 1/48, 05102

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$22

Oeffag modified the German DIII design with a stronger airframe and engine, making a superior fighter to the German machine. When the Germans tried to upgrade to the DV, the Austro-Hungarian air arm did not need to. The plane performed very well against a numerically superior enemy and was a favorite and the mount of many of Austria's Aces. Has markings for Austria's leading ace with 35 victories, Godwin Brumowski. Large decal sheet also includes marking for his other Albatros and two other Austrian aces as well. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Hobby-Time Bell XV-3 US Army Convertiplane, 1/43, 901-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM++

$89

SALE!! From the 1950s. One and only issue in amazing, investment grade condition. I personally removed these kits from the original Hobby-Time shipping box - it is the first time they have seen light since the factory. There is very, very little wear - only as much you would expect from the original packing and boxing operations. This is a very nice kit for that time with fine raised panel lines, interior detail and molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. The original 'krinkle' bag is present but brittle and cracked. I inventoried the parts and they are 100% present. The decals and instructions are in 'mint' condition.

Well molded kit with cockpit detail, movable rudder, elevators and ailerons, working dive brakes, optional position landing gear, rotating wheels and props and external bomb load. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Revell 1915 Fiat Tourer Highway Pioneers, 1/32, H55-89

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$44

1953 early issue molded in red acetate plastic. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. This is from the issues produced with Gowland & Gowland as it carrier their 'balloon' logo on the side. Before the 1950s 'model building' never made the top 10 list of boy's activities. Hobbies were nothing new to America in the 1930s/40s, but they were not mainstream. Shortly after the turn of the century, many dedicated modelers built flying or static airplanes, ship, train, automotive or other subjects. Basic kits existed, but the majority of these models were built from scratch, which demanded a high talent level developed from years of experience. That changed in the early 1950s. The phenomenon of the Revell/Gowland & Gowland 'Highway Pioneers' car kits was a significant force in proving that model building as a hobby could have mass appeal, provided that the kits were easy enough to build and finish. These 1/32 scale vehicles could be built in an hour after dinner and looked much like the real car. The Highway Pioneers series lead to the production of other subjects in plastic and the effect was revolutionary. By the early 1960s, model building was the #1 past time of American boys.

Pyro 1932 Plymouth PB Sport Roadster, 1/32, C336-60

Inventoried 100% complete with all parts decals and instructions. This kit started as a basic 1/48 scale model with full landing gear, rockets and bombs. Surface detail was minimal Lindberg modified it in the mid 1950s with extensive rivet detail. in the late 1950s, they modified it again to a motorized version with the batteries in the stand and a kit electric motor in the nose. Lindberg is a company with a fascinating history The original 'Lindberg Line' stretches back to the 1930s when Paul Lindberg drew plans for famous modeling magazines and marketed his balsa wood 'stick and tissue' by urging dealers to carry the '...Complete Lindberg Line'.
