Revell Avro Dam Buster Lancaster, 1/72, H202-200

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$38

1963 hardbox issue with great artwork and 'Secret Bomb.' Features specially modified Lancaster fuselage with Dam Buster bomb and release mechanism. Landing gear retracts, props and wheels turns and all control surfaces move. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: the decals are all present but there is a 2cm x 2cm square cut out of one corner and there is very light overspray on the sheet. The Dam Busters squadron was famous for its daring raids on three German dams on May 16, 1943. Carrying the special Barns Wallis-designed bombs, the Lancasters flew very low over the water in the face of heavy flak to drop the rotating bombs perfectly. Many did not return. The bombs did perform as promised, first skipping over the water, hitting the dam, then rolling down 30 feet before exploding with tremendous force. In an airburst, these bombs would not have damaged the dams, but since water is incompressible, the dams were breached.

Revell SMS Seeadler (Sea Eagle) German WWI Commerce Raider, 1/232, H382-298

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$179

Rare 1960 hardbox first issue with great John Steel artwork. This is a kit of a fantastic subject -the famous WWI sailing commerce raider of Count Felix Von Luckner. Very well detailed kit for that time. Full hull kit is molded in gray, brown and black and includes rigging thread and full rigging instructions. The kit has never been started. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes flags and instructions. The SMS Seeadler was a unique WWI raider in that it was not designed to elude the British blockade and break out to sea...it was designed to pass right through the blockade within full view of the British before attacking allied shipping around the world. No detail was overlooked in the Seeadler's preparation, right down to a Norwegian-speaking crew. The plan went perfectly - and the Seeadler passed inspection at the British Blockade. Her non-threatening appearance helped her in an active and colorful raiding career that nearly went around the world. I highly recommend reading any of several books that you can find about this ship. Von Luckner himself became quite a celebrity for his exciting exploits.
