Marx 'The Sandpiper' Armed Schooner Privateer from the War of 1912 plastic model kit

Marx 'The Sandpiper' Armed Schooner Privateer from the War of 1912

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

Very early 1950s ship kit from one of the most famous toy manufacturers. Marx got into plastic kit market early but quickly got out. It is too bad, as many of the kits are classics today. The Sandpiper is beautifully molded in black, white and red plastic. The box art has a toy-like look to it, but the model is a well-proportioned and detailed scale kit. Since plastic ship modeling was new, the instructions are very detailed and contain many enlarged drawings on rigging detail and sail installation, including a full design for a display case. Glue for plastic kits was not available at stores at that time, it was included with the kit and is still sealed. No scale is listed, but the ship is about 12 inches long when assembled. Sails are included. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
