Delta 2 1/72 Macchi Castoldi MC-72 Racing Float Plane - (MC72) plastic model kit

1/72 Delta 2 Macchi Castoldi MC-72 Racing Float Plane - (MC72)

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Still the only model in this scale of this beautiful, classic aircraft. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. This racer was built for the 1933 Schneider cup. Only one was produced. This plane was piloted by Francesco Agello and won the world speed record for Italy on October 23, 1934 with a speed of 440.67 mph. The floatplane had a unique engine arrangement with two independent motors mounted front to back driving counter-rotating props. Drag was minimized by close cowling to the blocks and the least possible braces for the floats.
