Revell 1/72 Heinkel He-219 Owl, H160 plastic model kit

1/72 H160 Revell Heinkel He-219 Owl

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+

Still factory sealed. 1973 issue features Fug 220 and Fug 212 Lichtenstein radar systems, good cockpit detail, crew of two, two 30mm cannon in 'Schrage Musik' configuration, movable wheels and propellers, optional position landing gear, two detailed DB 603 engines with opening access panels, flame damper exhaust tubes and more. The legendary Owl was an incredibly successful aircraft developed to counter the RAFs deadly night raids. On a trial mission in mid 1943, the He-219 destroyed 5 RAF bombers in one sortie and within the next six raised that devastating total to twenty. Although it had a distinguished career, towards the end of the war the He-219 was withdrawn from German production lines to concentrate on aircraft that could be built more quickly. But the Owl was so popular with her crews that 6 more were assembled from component parts and their existence withheld from the government air authorities.
