1/72 PX-014 Maintrack Short SB5 (SB-5)

This unique aircraft was ordered from Short by English Electric to resolve a dispute between EE and The RAE as to the optimum configuration for the eventual legendary Lighting Interceptor. The SB5 had three wing sweep angles (69, 60 and 50) and the horizontal stabilizer could be mount below the fuselage or as a 'T' tail. Landing gear was fixed, as the debate was only over low speed handling. The design proved that EE was correct, and the Lighting was built as designed. Very high quality vac kit Highly detailed moldings with full cockpit and fine recessed details, full decals and metal seat, struts, wheels and other parts. Still sealed.
