The world's first locomotive was the 1804 Trevithick, but it took another 25 years to make a locomotive suitable for carrying passengers or freight. The Rocket was the winner of an English competition sponsored by the Liverpool and Manchester Railroad. She pulled 3 timer her weight at 12.5 mph then hauled a passenger coach at 24 mph. The Rocket stimulated other locomotive growth and the railway network throughout Great Britain. Kit is 10.25 inches long when built and features 110 parts with molded in color and display track. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
