Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: VG+
This 1960s Type 3 logo issue 'Porcupine' features beaching gear, rotating turrets with elevating guns, movable control surfaces, external bomb load and rotating props. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Please note that one propeller blade is broken off neatly at the hub; it is present and included so you can reattach it. The Sunderland's 21-year record with the RAF has made it a legend. Derived from the Empire Class Flying Boat Airliners, Sunderland IIIs had a top speed of 210 mph and an endurance of 12 hours. These qualities made the Sunderland a superb platform for North Sea and North Atlantic patrols, ASW and SAR. Crews usually loved the airplane; its large size afforded many airborne comforts that bomber or fighter crews could only dream of, such as bunk, a head and an area for food preparation.
