LF Models 1/72 Caproni Ca-331 C.N. - Italian Heavy Night Fighter, 7251 plastic model kit

1/72 7251 LF Models Caproni Ca-331 C.N. - Italian Heavy Night Fighter

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Very rare 1/48 version. This limited edition model features main parts molded in high definition resin, very fine recessed surface detail, clear canopies (still in mint condition and not yellowed) and full decals. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The Ca-331 Night Fighter was developed from the Ca331 observation aircraft. The new CN (Caccia Notturno) prototype first flew on April 28, 1941 at Ponte San Pietro. In September of 1941 it was flown to Guidonia for the official evaluation tests. The design was satisfactory and in late march of 1942 the Italian Air Ministry ordered 300 aircraft to be built. But by early January 1943 the order was canceled due to the war situation. The Germans seized the one and only prototype and took it to Germany for evaluation.
