Ship Shape Mayo Class Destroyer / Benson / Mayo / Gleaves / Niblack / Madison / Lansdale And More - 12 Inch Long Wooden Ship Model, S751 plastic model kit

S751 Ship Shape Mayo Class Destroyer / Benson / Mayo / Gleaves / Niblack / Madison / Lansdale And More - 12 Inch Long Wooden Ship Model

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Very rare model in 'excellent' condition. Features a beautiful redwood x,y and z axis carved hull, factory-cut and carved hardwood and parts including carved deck, superstructure and factory-cut balsa detail parts, hardwood wood stock as required and sandpaper. Includes full size plans with two views, construction notes and rigging details. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and instructions. Little is known about Ship Shape but they were around for a long time and had a very good line of models. Ship Shape was founded in 1927 and the address was given as Perkasie, PA. I have seen Ship Shape kits dating from around WWII; they probably closed up shop during the plastic model introduction in the early or mid 1950s.
