Monogram 1/72 Hu-16B Albatross - Grumman SA-16B - Blue Box Issue, PA160-150 plastic model kit

1/72 PA160-150 Monogram Hu-16B Albatross - Grumman SA-16B - Blue Box Issue

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

The 3rd issue dated 1967 from the superb original1957 'Four Star' molds. This has long been one of my favorite Monogram models to build because of the incredible fit and finish, very good detail and scale appearance. Features retracting landing gear, rotating wheels and props, three man crew, optional position door and survivor in a life raft. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please note the stain on the upper left of the box; it extends down the adjacent long and short sides. The decals are not affected and are in 'near mint' condition. The Albatross was the primary sea rescue aircraft of the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service, a branch of MAC - Military Airlift Command. Operational service began in 1947 and Hu-16s saw wartime action in Vietnam.
