Still factory sealed. 1966 hardbox issue from the same molds as the 'S' kit USS Randall. Highly detailed and well molded for that time. Features deck guns, all masts and booms, barges and landing craft. The USS Montrose was on of 57 Haskell Class Attack Transports built for service in and immediately after WWII. The ships were designed to carry troops close to the beachheads, transfer them to landing barges (carried on board) and to supervise the landing operations. Her length was 455 feet and she could handle 1,560 troops and carry 3000 tons of equipment.
