Incredibly rare solid wood model kit for the advanced collector. Dated 1946, it is of the highest quality. This is possibly the only kit remaining in existence from "The Precisioneers" since there is no available internet or auction record of any kit made by them or ever being sold. "The Precisioneers" certainly lived up to their name, especially in documentation while sparing few expenses. The model is a large 1/38 scale multi-media kit of the North American Navion. It consists of wood and plastic parts on a presentation cardboard and the finest set of documentation I have ever seen in a wooden kit. There are no less than 5 documents, 4 of which are printed on expensive, high gloss paper (not the cheap paper that plans are usually printed on). These include the finest set of plans I have ever seen for this type of kit. They include three views in incredible detail, two phantom view of the aircraft, real photos, exploded view of the aircraft, and the signature of the North American Aerospace Engineer who approve the plans. Also includes a highly detailed step-by-step instruction booklet, template sheet for fuselage and wing (rub) cross sections, a sheet with a well detailed history of the aircraft, and an illustrated sheet advertising another Precisioneers kit, the Crosby Racer. The actual model features very high quality wooden parts including a 3D (x, y and axis) cut fuselage, 2D (x and y) cut wings, horizontal and vertical stabilizers, fully cut and finished main and nose gear wheels, a clear vacuform canopy still in amazing clear (not yellowed)and straight (not warped) condition, metal stock, wooden stock, blank block for a regular two bladed propeller and heavy clear material to simulate a rotating propeller. The model has never been started and is 100% complete. All paper items in are in 'excellent' or better condition as are all parts and the display backing paper. The box is in surprisingly good condition with both large end flaps present and two (of four) small inner flaps present.
