G2-350 Carl Goldberg Models Ranger 30 - 30 Inch Wingspan .020 To .049 Gas Control Line Or Free Flight Aircraft

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

From the mid 1960s. High quality gas (or electric conversion) flying model with all balsa construction (no tissue required). Features die-cut balsa wood and plywood parts, wood stock as required, fully formed and finished wheels, fully formed steel landing gear struts, metal stock as needed, die-cut clear windshield, hinge material, hardware, very colorful decal sheet and excellent building instructions / plans. Never started. The small parts are all still in the factory sealed bag. The other parts have been inventoried complete. Carl Goldberg was a gifted designer of model aircraft, and his career spanned the evolution of flying models. His designs and number of titles won in competition at the Nationals is legendary. His first competition was the 1928 Nationals, where he received honorable mention. By 1934 he won the indoor Nats and in 1935 he opened a Hobby Shop, among the first in the nation (the first one was probably opened by Cleveland Models Ed Packard). Awards came quickly. He wrote articles for Model Airplane News, and was Comet's top designer from 1939 till 1945. After Comet, he worked with Mike Schlesinger and Sid Axelrod on what eventually became Top-Flite Models. In 1955 he founded Carl Goldberg Models and released a still-popular line of scale, rubber, gas, glider and RC models. Needless to say, Goldberg's models are of the highest quality.
